Wow am still on the path to pregnancy, and really cant believe it after the year me and dh have had but it seems like the right thing to do.

Ideally I dont want to be pg until december/january.

I need to get my mirena taken out, and gp says that fertility returns to normal immediately. Anyone any experience of this?

Do we start trying properly straight away (knowing my luck it will happen, ive only got to sit next to a man without any protection and Im pg ) or wait until i know my cyle and start trying in december

any advice would be great

oh lully, I am sorry . I will keep my fingers crossed for you xx

ok not much of a gap then, maybe I'll have it taken out end september, wait a couple of months then try december/january.

Do you have any other dc's? And if so did you get pg easily with them?

Thanks MS, yes i have a 2 year old DS who was conceived after about 3-4 months. He wasnt exactly planned but came as a pleasent surprise. I am just hoping that this time will be a quick but i know you can just never tell.

How long did it take with your other 2 DCs?

Hi
I had my Mirena out on Friday last week and have been bleeding quite a lot since yesterday. Is this normal? My period wasn't due for another couple of weeks and we are hoping to get pregnant asap (3rd baby).
GP said it could happen straight away but wasn't expecting the bleeding and now worried......

Yes tis my first time ttc after the mirena. I dont have any periods on it so difficult to know how my cycle is until its taken out, which is why i think maybe I should get it removed sooner rather than later.

Good luck all

Could you not have it taken out and use other means of contraception until December or when you are ready to TTC again?

thanks Lully. Am guessing this is just 'withdrawl' bleed from the mirena hormones? So hopefully will be pg soon (always immediately pg with my other 2 so here's hoping).

So sorry Lully to hear about your MC - fingers crossed for a successful pg very soon for you.
Lots of lovely summer babies for all of us next year.........hopefully!

Hi, I have one child, and had the mirena removed June 07, and still not in a cycle, have been waiting patiently, but nothing happened, have started trying ovulation kits, which seem promising this month, but I have heard that some people get pregnant straight away after the mirena removal, sounds like you might be one of those lucky ones! I wil keep my fingers crossed for you.
