Hello, my partner and I are about to try for number 2. I have been tracking my cycles all year and will be due to ovulate next week sometime. I am sat with coffee in hand...as I loooove it but gave it up when pregnant with my ds as I know its not the best thing.....now all this new research ahs come out saying you are 26% more likely to conceive if you have no caffine......so shall i give up my one love now??will it have enough time to get out of my system?

Hi
I just read an article this morning that it's ok to have up to 300mg caffeine per day (which is 1 cup of brewed coffee). I am a total coffee addict too, and these days it's my only real vice since I gave up smoking 3 years ago and don't have alcohol very often. I kind of feel the need to be addicted to something .

On the other hand, I think it's probably a really good idea to stop drinking it if it's possible. We're trying to conceive DC1 and every day I wonder if my morning cup (huge one!) is making it more difficult.....

We should start a CA thread (Caffeineaholics Annonymous)

I had to open this because I've just sat down to treat myself to some MN time with a big mug of milky coffee...to try and combat the extreme tiredness I am feeling in week 7 of pregnancy! I didn't cut it out and the ttc worked for us but of course every one is different.

no idea what a doctor would say but as a fellow coffee addict lover I think there is a lot to be said for not making yourself miserable with coffee-withdrawal headaches while TTC, right?

If you start having difficulty TTC then I guess it would be wise to cut out anything which would affect it.

FWIW I live in a country where people live off coffee, it courses through their veins, and there are plenty of pregnant women and healthy babies. Highly scentific information there for you

oh yes ladies I will join lol! when I got pregnant with ds1 i still drank coffee....I suupppoooose a latte is milky coffee and milk is good for the baby!!!!

My partner loves her coffee too, she is a total javaholic, and i always put ds for a nap in the morning have a coffee and read MN!

I also fell pregnant on our first (insem) attempt with ds so don't think I have fertility problems...maybe its too to early to totally rule out coffee....will just stick to a v milky morning coffee

like your logic there, nelix

am glad to report that that coffee earlier has kind of worked - I now at least have the energy to remember what I should get done today ...
