Hello

Am looking for some PCOS companions to join me on the road to TTC.

Had PCOS for 15yrs but am only just TTC at age 31.

Would be good to know of some success stories or just find some companions on what might be tricky old road!

Hello Giraffe. I might be TTC again faily soon, so maybe I'll be back. I'm a success story, although PCOS was only suspected not proven because I fell pg naturally before I attended my fertility clinic appointment. Potential PCOS picked up on a scan after TTC for nearly 4 years. I now have a beautiful 22 month old boy. Good luck!

Hi
I have PCOS and conceived my son with Metformin/Clomid and reflexology 4 years ago. Just come off Dianette to try again. Dreading the next few months as my skin gets really bad again and I have no AF but the GP won't send me to the endocrinologist again until I have tried for 3 months to get pg myself. So in August I can go back to GP and get referred and no doubt start Met again.

So excited at the thought of getting pregnant again but really nervous too. It took 18 months to get pg with DS so I am expecting a long journey ahead!

What symptoms of PCOS do you have? I am slim at 5ft tall and under 8 stone but have terrible skin and no AF when not on Dianette.

I'd love to be your TTC buddy!

Hi everyone-

Thanks Scoobyd00- thanks- will look out for the other PCOS thread.

Hi janeandben- great to meet you here :-) Great to hear of a success story!

I've been taking Metformin, using vaniqa and taking skin antibiotics for nearly two years. Without those I have virtually no cycle, bad skin and facial hair.
I am also slim with PCOS but it take a lot of effort to stay that way!

Im hoping that my regular cycles on metformin mean that Im ovulating but who knows! My coil is being removed next week and then its all systems go!!!

Really interested in having reflexology though. How did you find it??

Hi
I was on Metformin solely for TTC then after I had DS I went back on Dianette, do you find your skin is OK on Met and antibiotics?

Dianette is wonderful for the skin/hair side effects, I feel so normal when I am on it, practically clear skin and a regular AF (I know not proper AFs but nice and regular).

I was on 1500mg of Met (I think) and added Clomid 50mg and was having reflexology at the same time when I conceived. I thought the reflexolgy was great, not sure that it helped me conceive, think I should have done just the Clomid or just the reflexology first but what the heck, had them both and conceived. I am booked in for my first session tomorrow evening to try again. It would be a dream come true if I could conceive on no drugs but I know I am wishful thinking!

I am so dreading my bad skin though I feel so self conscious with it and have been on Dianette for 4 years now and its been lovely.

I am sure I will be banging on my GP's door in August begging to be referred to the endo for more Metformin! It took 6 months of taking it before I had a proper AF then my cycles were about 50 days which is why he added Clomid. Are your cycles regular on Met?

I will let you know more about the reflexology after tomorrow night as its been a long time since I had it, I remember it was a weird sensation after she had done it, really felt "something" was going on! I had about 4 sessions before I conceived I think.
X

Hi JaneandBen
Sorry for such a long delay in responding. I am doing a handover of my role at work and dont get a minute to myself day or evening at the moment!

Hows things with you? have you actually come off the dianette now~?

How was reflexology last week? I am really thinking of arranging some.

Met has really helped my cycles - i used to have very random long cycles but now its more or less 28 to 32 days every time. I hope/think im ovulating - I get the EWCM each time but I am not sure if thats a definate sign!

I am having my coil removed on Wednesday which Im slightly worried about as Im a whimp with pain- then its time to stop the the vaniqa cream and change my antibiotics (from a type i know really works well to something new..)

I am really excited about TTC but so nervous too...

could I join this thread?
Was diagnosed at 22 with PCOS and started trying to conceive Jan 07. Fell pregnant last april but miscarried in July. Have been trying ever since but no luck yet.
Very fed up.
Have been back to the Docs this month as it has been 2 years since I came off the pill for PCOS, and had no further check ups, blood tests or ultrasounds since. They werent interested when i told them i wanted to TTC 18 months ago, but the Doc was really supportive when I went last week. Feel a bit more positive now, and they are referring me back to the gynae as well.
Sorry for that essay! finished!
(ps am now 30)

Hi LouSWABFPtoo

Please jump on. I am quite new to MN so getting to know my way around but all these threads are great.

Sorry to hear about your MC but its sounds like your drs are helping now.

What are your cycles like?

I asked to be put on Met but the doc refused and referred me to a gynae who as been really great with me over the last 2.5yrs

Hi
My reflexology was great. The lady was really nice and concentrated on an area on my big toe that represents the pituitary gland and two areas on my ankles, inside and out, which represent my ovaries and uterus.

I felt terrible the next day, really bad headache and very groggy and had a slight headache on Friday but felt fine since then.

I've been off the pill 2 weeks - am on CD14 today but I don't normally bother with cycle days as my cycles are so long! My skin is absolutely fine, no new spots but its early days yet! I have tons of freckles though as I have been out in the garden with DS all day. Lots of sun cream on but masses of freckles, I look about 12!

Excited as more reflexology tomorrow then I will go again in 2 weeks when AF is due (if I had a normal cycle- might as well dream!)

GY sounds promising with your regular cycles and EWCM - good luck for Weds!

Welcome Lou - let us know when you get the gynae appt, what are your PCOS symptoms?

Hi
Last night's reflexology was great, she did a lymphatic massage too which was good. She worked deeply on my ovaries/uterus spots (ankles) which is really intense but hopefully does some good!

I don't have a headache today like I did last week - not sure if that means anything!

Going again in 2 weeks just before AF is due - not that I am expecting AF to show!

Good luck for today GY - hope the coil removal is not too painful.
