Bit of a long one this, but you just need to look at my user name to see why!

Have been on mini-pill for 6 months (after 7 years on the combined pill), was having fortnightly (teeny) AFs, then none at all for about 3 months. Went on holiday on 21st March, forgot to take pill with me and consequently had AF on 25th March. Ovulated about 10 days later (I think!), had AF again on 17th April, so 24 day cycle. I finished my half packet of pills, in the meantime DH and I decided to start TTC; last pill was on 28th April, AF arrived 1st May so last cycle was only 15 days. My question is, is it worth taking any notice of the last two cycles as it?s completely my own doing that they?ve been all over the place, or should I just start counting from yesterday? Am new to all this charting business??.!

On the plus side, it does seem that my body gets back into gear pretty quickly after stopping the pill which is encouraging!

Hello

If I have understood your post right, you have been taking the pill on and off until a few days ago... is that right?

If so, for the purpose of charting or otherwise monitoring your cycles, you can't really count any period during which you have taken the pill. This is because they are not your cycles. For example, the bleed you have when you stop taking the pill is not a proper period (because it is caused by you stopping taking artificial hormones).

Does that answer your question?

Yup, that's pretty much what I thought! Thanks for that - I shall keep you all updated, women in my family have a habit of falling pregnant when men so much as look at them so I'm a bit paranoid that I'll be the exception - I've got a lot to live up to!

Thanks Scaryhairy.
