My period was due on Saturday and on Friday I got some brown discharge. This stopped and resumed on sunday for about an hour and then vanished. Yesterday i got a tiny bit in the evening and then today some more. I'm still waiting for red blood which i normally get straight away when I'm due on. Any ideas as to what is going on please?

Hello

Have you tested?

hello Nat! . No haven't tested but to be honest i don't think i could be preg as we only had sex once as DH has been away on and off on business and even then he pulled out(we' were going to wait ttc until after our hols this month). I know you can still get preg with pre cum etc but really, what are the odds!

I got pregnant with the MC doing exactly that.

(Not saying that that is what caused the MC BTW)

Test, you won't settle till you do, and you know how much I love a tester

lol twiglett - very true.

I'm sick of wasting money on preg tests. Was half expecting someone to tell me that I may have an infection rather than tell me to test.

Nope, think I OV'e dover the weekend (CD23 or something equally as daft) so just doing the whole waiting thing, again!

Do you know about Teuch? Come back, you don't need to keep up, or catch up for that matter, someone will fill you in...

And yes occording to DH his supersprem could impregnate the PC if he so wanted to, just not me!!

Umm I'm 27 weeks pregnant and my period which was like brown ick turned out, well not to be a period after all

It only takes one time to get pregnant you know. If you don't want to waste a test, drop a urine sample in at your GPs.

popcornprincess

Your initial message could have been about me!

Am in exactly the same position. Had some brown gunk on a tampax a week ago, lasted couple of days and then stopped completely. Have now had nothing for 6 days and am on CD37!! (unheard of for me!).

Normally I get exactly tehesame as you - brown spotting leads straight onto proper red blood.

However I have done two tests (including one today) and both are negative.

No idea what is going on!

Eleveld - I would go to the GP if I were you. Sometimes you do get a negative test for quite a while after implantation bleeding (sometimes up to 10 days). This is because until implantation occurs the HCG hormone isn't produced (and even after implantation - which causes the slight bleed) it takes 24 - 48 hours to start being produced at anything like discernable levels. So if you ovulated late (and you can ovulate at any time however regular you think you are), you may find you get an implantation bleed and then a BFN for a week or so, and then get a positive.

whomovedmychocolate (love the name BTW!) - thanks for your message.

I am actually seeing my gynae 2 weeks today - to go over the results of my second day21 blood test which I'm sure has shown I didn't ovulate again (think that's why he's calling me back) - the thought has crossed my mind though that I could be ovulating late, therefore having the test on day 21/22 is useless.

The only other thing that is making me convinced I an not pg (apart from having NO symptoms) is that if I did ovulate really late we hardly did any BDing later on - think only twice! so chances quite low.

Do you think I should see the doctor urgently or be OK to leave till my gynae appointment in 2 weeks?

I have to say that I have never had a cycle this long in my life and have also never had that bown stuff other than when it leads straight onto full red bleed. I wouldn't have actually known about it if I hadn't been using a tampon (as thought was due on - sorry TMI ). I also nearly always get really sore boobs in lead up to AF - they are not in the slightest bit tender at the moment.

The 'gunk' started in the eveing of CD 28 and lasted until cd 30

Thanks for you help

whomovedmychocolate - well wouldn't that be sods law, we ttc for ages and nothing and when we don't ttc we get preg. I'm still not even sure that i could be but I may well do a test tonight just in case. I always crack under pressure when it comes to 'shall I, sharn't I test!

Eleveld - may be our bodies are just playing daft tricks on us - well i'm not laughing!

Ah ye of little faith. DD was conceived on day nine of a 32 day cycle. DS (still cooking him) on day 29 of an irregular cycle - the month after a miscarriage and we also only did it once both times. Both times I was told I shouldn't expect to conceive naturally because I wasn't ovulating. Doctors can only measure what is normal according to their strict clinical parameters, but the making of babies is an irregular and in some senses random process.

The day we gave up was the day we actually conceived DD as well (weirdly). So don't give up so easily. And if not this month, there is always another ahead of you.

popcornprincess - you still there? Did you test?

Still no sign of AF for me - day 40 tomorrow!

Has anyone had a similar experience to me and gone on to get a positive?

Think I'll have to test at the weekend if nothing happened
