I am unsure what to think of this, as i have one of each.
If there is some truth in it then the point made about IVF could be very interesting.
I am looking for more articles or research on this now, as it has intrigued me.

I haven't read the whole article but isn't it the man who determines the sex?

If it's true then I am destined to only ever have boys as I've got PCOS and therefore high testosterone. Great! There goes my dreams of a little girl all dressed in pink! Of course I'd be over the moon with another boy as I dont have much chance of conceiving anyway, but we can all dream cant we! (I actually dress my DS in pink quite a lot - masculine pink of course)

Sounds like a load of old balderdash to me.

Some of the most fearsome women I know have girls. Margaret Thatcher anyone?!

Margaret Thatcher - that's an odd one. her son is a bit wet and useless while her daughter is right dragon.

how do you KNOW if you have high testosterone levels

Oh I think I read this last Saturday. It said that 68% of people have hormones which 'allow' them to have either sex, and the other 32% are split 16% at either end. Just girls or just boys.

I was trying to think of all the families I know and work out if that made statistical sense!

I don't think it is 'down to the man' though. I believe that like the article said, some eggs are just pre-disposed to accept the sperm of a particular gender. Also, it's already well-known that some women's ladygardens are more favourable environemts to either xx or xy.

all very interesting anyway.

Nuturing, tolerant and empathic moi??!!

As a Mum of 2 nearly 3 girls I think if I had 12 children they would all be girls, being a Mum to a boy seems very alien to me, don't know why, I just knew I would have girls.
