Period whilst pregnant?

Anyone had a proper period (heavier than spotting/implantation bleeding) and then discovered they were pregnant? I was sure I had fallen pregnant as I had a lot of the same symptoms I had when I fell pregnant with DS during the 2WW. Then I started spotting for about 4 days before my period was due. I started to believe it was implantation bleeding as I never have spotting for that long before period starts properly. Then I did have a 'proper' period although it stopped quicker than my normal periods (but was still heavy).I just presumed I wasn't pregnant but I have still got pregnancy symptoms! Sore boobs, cramping, mood swings, nausea etc. I have also piled on half a stone in last couple of weeks without any real reason for it. Would I be mad to take a test now?

I had a proper period after I had conceived with my first 2 DC's.

Take the test at least you will know one way or the other

No not mad to take a test. With two of my preg af arrived on the day it should of, normal flow but only lasted a day. Then at 6 weeks preg I have what would appear a normal peroid for about 5 days.
If you dont test you will drive yourself mad guessing, best to know for sure. good luck

Thanks guys! Where would I be without Mumsnet? DH going out this morning and I have given him strict instructions to come back with a test! I am off to a friends with DS to do an Easter Egg hunt (better not eat any after recent weight gain). I will keep you posted and if I am not pregnant I don't know what all these weird symptoms are (and definatley going on a diet!). Bye for now
