Im on CD 12 and just done an ovulation test, by last cycle I wasnt expecting to ovulate until CD17.

But I just had a line, Its not as dark as the other but its a clear pink line. This means negative according to the packet.

BUT does it mean I am starting to ovulate, if i test tomorrow is it likely it will be a dark and true + then?

I am not trying for baby yet I am just charting my cycles and using condoms.

Thanks.

Hi TTCindisguise it is different depending on brand of opk - if it says a lighter line is -ve then prob not about to ov. It is possible it will get darker later today/tomorrow. If you have done tests previous days that have had no line atall then I'd guess LH is building up. The opk detects the LH surge which happens just before ov - once the opk line is a definite +ve you will ovulate 12-36 hours later.
Are you looking for other signs like EWCM ? opks don;t work for everyone so it is worth looking out for other signs too.

btw am impressed at how organised you are working out your cycles prior to ttc - do you know when you plan to start ? When you do, you are welcome to join us in the ttc waiting room - a friendly bunch with a wealth of ttc knowledge

Hiya Mibbles

Im actully hoping to concieve a certain gender after 3 of the other.

So Im working out my cycles in order to predict ovulatio when I am TTC.

Im planning to start in 4/6 months

I havent done an OPK prior so I dont actully know if theres 'always' a line there, a frind of mine uses the same one though so I will ask her.

Thanks x

if you are using cheapy ebay ones, then perhaps test at a different time of day (in addition to your usual test).

This is my first month of OPK's and I got faint lines for a day or so, then I got a clear positive on an extra test about 10pm (I usually test around 5-7pm).

It had gone back to faint line by the next morning.

Some women get faint lines throughout their cycles, so the line must be dark to be a true positive.
