When should you test?

Can anyone tell me if it is ok to test in the afternoon or should you wait for the first one of the day? Waiting to go to loo, but just waiting for any advice first. Thanks

The first pee of the day is the best wee to test as it is more concentrated. However, if your period was due a week or more ago it will probably be ok to test at any time.

Good luck xx

Well I am only cd30 of 27-28'ish cycle. Not sure, but I think it is too early. I think I will wait until tomorrow.

Kayzisbroody, how many days late were you when you tested positive?

About 3. I had done 2 tests before that 1 was negative and the second was positive but really faint so I did a digital one.
I've got my fingers crossed for you

Thanks. I have another thread on the go about whether to test or not a few down. I am going to keep posting on there. I have decided to wait until the morning. I am going to wait until DH has gone to work.

If there is a positive I am going to wait until Thursday, as not only is it Valentines Day, but also his birthday, so I might be going to gift wrap it for him (somehow). I know he will see the funny side and be thrilled.

The trouble is, is that I do not want to build my hopes up. I am sure that my DH assumes that I am not pregnant as I told him last week that I was suffering with terrible af pains (I was at the time, but are now wondering if these were actually implantation pains). He will be totally surprised with any positive result.

The that is bothering me is that I am worried about these pains as they have lasted for five days now. I hope that it is not anything to worry about. I have been unable to find out about how long implatation pains normally last.

P.S. does anyone know if peeing on a stick is better than a test stick you dip?

Splash-wise (...) it's easier to do the dip stick test imho. I don't think either is "better" though I imagine there's more chance of you not getting enough onto the stick if you pee onto it (and miss)...

Mine are just some that I got from ebay, the last time I was pregnant in the summer. I used them in the morning and got 2 positives. I can not remember how many days late I was at the time.

P.S. They were very basic dip stick tests.

how many tests do you have?

Both of my BFP's have been evening wee's.

Don't know how late I was with DS1, he was planned, but I had no idea about cycle days and when I was due on or anything, though it must have been early days as I found out at 4.4 weeks. DS2 I was 9 days late, but hadn't tested for a week before hand, (I had tested on day AF was due, BFN, and some more (100's) test's in the next couple of days, all BFN!)

I only ask because if you have more than one, then we are going to start egging you on to test....NOW!!!

If you have more than 1 test do one now. It wont do any harm and then you can do another tomorrow morning

Twinklewishes

with DS1 I had pains from about 3 days before my period was due until about a week afterwards. I wasn't expecting to be pg so just thought they were period pains and expecting bleeding any second.

I didn't test until I was nine days late but in the evening and it came up immediately.

As you are already 2-3 days late it is very likely you will get a correct result even with wee later in the day.

Good luck.

I have three of them left. I used two last time I was pregnant. The toruble is I do not live in England and they are very expensive to buy out here and I do not speak the local language. Therefore, I bought them from ebay.

Although I was not convinced with the first test as it was only very faint when I used it. I think I could have been about three days late. The second one was when I got back from holiday at nearly a week, by this time I was sure I was pregnant. I have tried to hang on so that I still have enough left for next time. I know they were only cheap, but when I have to have them posted overseas, they become expensive. I think I will need two and this will leave me one for next time.

I think I will wait until morning. I will post results on Thursday, after I have told DH one way or another. I know I am being a pain. I just want to get it all off my chest.
