How do I break the news to DH...

that I got a BFP?!

I tested a few days ago as I was convinced that I was pg as had quite a few symptoms but I obviously tested too early. I feel a bit stupid as I dragged DH into the bathroom cos he missed out on the BFP part last time and then what happened...BFN. As AF still hadn't turned up I went and bought a cheapie test today so that I could test without DH knowing then I could get on with my life without worrying that I may be pg. Of course, I now have a BFP and have to tell him somehow. I want to do another test just to let it sink in. So what should I do? Not tell DH and test with FMU in his presence tomorrow? Or do you have a better idea?

Just tell him, you have been feeling so 'pg' that you simply had to do another test today, to rule it out, and then you were surprised to see the bfp.

i just rang DH, he told me not to test. I rang him and said you know that thing that you told me not to do, well i did and i am.

Cue lots of shrieking and noise and laughter. Be honest

I had thought about wrapping it up and giving it to him but I'm not sure that he will appreciate my peestick!

Congratulations!

I don't think he would appreciate the peestick. How about wrapping up some baby booties?

How goods your lying face? Could you go get another test and do it tonight when hes home - just dont tell him about todays one?

Failing that just fess up and tell him

I'm not sure that my lying face is up to much. I don't want to tell him on the phone. I just hope that he isn't watching MN from work as I've just gone and posted somewhere else but forgot to name change back and I know that he would realise straight away that it's me. i'm not sure that reading MN is the best way to tell him.

No, but I know that he thinks that I shouldn't just keep testing and only test when I think that I am pg. Well, I thought that I was pg so I tested I recognised the early nausea from last time. I'm just hoping that I don't get hyperemesis this time.

Have spoken to DH and asked him to come home from work relatively early today (he does flexi-time) and I told him that I just need a hug. He said that he should be able to manage this - yay! When he gets home I'm going to fess up and then do another test in the morning with FMU just to get it to sink in a bit methinks.

How did it go?

It went brilliantly thanks, so I am now back to my normal name on MN. I have a beautiful bunch of roses sitting on the windowsill that DH rushed out to buy for me.

Let's hope it's a sticky one!

bit late now but when I found I was expecting our 1st dd (been ttc for 9 months if I'd had MN in those days I'd have been more clued up) I did test at work (because mate at work said I lloked different and was I pg) she came to the loo to confirm it for me. So at lunchtime I went to mothercare bought a 'i love my daddy' bib and wrapped it up, he took a good couple of minutes to click what it meant when he opened it

With dd2 we'd had 2 mc inbetween dd1 and dd2 so was more apprehensive and just showed him the stick
