Hi all, I am in a dilema, I have 2 DC the youngest being 6 and am having pregnacy symtoms, like nausea, stomach cramps and pains in my back. I have carried out a pregnancy test and was releived when it came back negative!

However after having read some of the MN threads I now realise that the test may not actually be accurate as my symtoms are still here. My dilema is "how the devil do I tell my huband." Who is currently working away from home a lot, at the moment, so has not had a lot of imput! Its a bit like the thread on MN about the immaculate conception. When is the best time? Do I wait until he comes home so that he is sitting comfortably or should I give it to him over the phone? My concern is either way he's not going to be to thrilled! What should I do?

If the pregnancy test was negative then you may not be PG, Is you period late? If I were you, if I were concerned about DP/DH's reaction I would make sure I was deffinatley PG first. Try another test in 48 hours with a ifferent brand of test, make sure you use your morning wee and see what result you get. If that's still negative and your still late and still getting symptoms then a trip to the GP may be in order. Pregnancy tests are 95% accurate or something like that, unless your testing too early there may be other reasons for your symptoms. You could always prep DP/DH by letting him know about your symptoms so that he won't be so shocked if it turns out you are PG.

Thanks for the information Pixie, I think I'll wait until the weekend I should have started my period by then! I have been doing further research on the net and have come up with two possible conclusions

  1. I am pregnant.

  2. I am starting an early menopause (I am 42 years old).

Is anybody else as confussed as me! or is it just me?
