ADVICE NEEDED ABOUT MORNING WEE FOR PREGNANCY TEST !!

sweetbean · 18/09/2007 08:51

I know that it is best to test with the first wee of the day and that ideally you should leave at lest 6hrs between wee's if you want to get enough hormones in it but i wake up at 3ish desperate for a wee and then again at 6ish so (ramble ramble ramble) my question is, is it ok to collect a wee sample at 3am and then leave it and test it when i wake up ?????

I know that it sounds stupid to ask but do you think i would be ok or do the hormones "go off" or something

My cycle is usually 28/29 days long and i was due on on 14th so am late and want to test tommorrow am !!

Thanks for any advice !!
xxxx

Tests are pretty sensitive these days, I don't think you need to wait for morning wee. The morning wee tends to have more concentrated hormones, but with modern tests, I don't think you need to worry about that ...

Agree you should be able to test in evening and get result - I tested 5pm the day my period was due and got a strong line within about 20 seconds! Tests v sensitive these days.

As your af is over due you can test at anytime of the day. Yesterday, cd23 I tested at 10.30 in the morning and got a bfp and it was not my first wee.

There should be instructions on the test about how to store urine. I am sure you can keep it for up to 8 hours in a fridge before testing.

But if you wee at 3am and then use 6am wee you will still probably get a positive if your period is already late.

Good luck! Hope to see you on the "Due in June thread"!

Cheapo tests are just as sensitive. I think 25 hcg is the most sensitive, some are 50 though I think - the box will tell you! Good luck

My faint line is kicking me right now!!

Sweetbean - congrats! That's great news. How many days into your cycle are you? If you are not yet past four weeks that may be why you do not have a strong line.

I had a very strong line and still MC'd so I don't think it matters!

{ I will report back on Monday to tell you if I got a bfp too!)
