I'm getting annoyed trying for baby number 2, I thought I would get PG really quickly as with DS I did on the very first try.

My first day of last AF was 26 July, should have ovulated 12 Aug and been good for conception 8-15 Aug. 31 day cycle should have AF today. I've done tests every few days (all negative, no faint lines or anything) as I SOOOO want it to be as easy as last time and I'm on a very tight schedule, its got to be born May/June.

Am I being silly? How long does it take for the hormones to react on the tests. Last time with dS I did a test 4 days after sex and was pg (ie way before AF was scheduled). So why no indication now or am I just imagining the sore boobs, tiredness heightened sense of smell?

Anyone?

humm, realistically, you may not be as lucky this time (lol at your 'tight schedule')
I THINK that with tests now, by the time your period is due, they usually show something up.
Although utmost sympathy - when we were trying for ds I was CONVINCED I was pg on first cycle - had every possible symptom - including my period being over a week late - no idea how many pg tests I threw away in disgust that it was 'wrong' again

You never know. I thought I was preg.. lots of neg tests. Took progesterone to induce AF for next course of clomid. AF never arrived as I was pregnant. Think you should give it 4 days before re-testing.

Yes, I am sitting here laughing at myself too. I'm an organiser through and through and I am trying to get this right as my exams are in May and I want to stop work and take off the month of may to study, have baby after that and spend 3 months of summer break settling in and then go back to college (Thursday nights) on my maternity leave. Oh yes, I am laughing, watch this space for updates on the 'planned process'

Oh and DH absolutely won't let me do ovulation testing as he doesn't want to feel 'used' for sex ha ha ha ha

er...why are you 'on a schedule'? It's a baby, not a bleedin' train.

x-posts, but even so...
I have been ttc for 21 months and although there are months/dates that would be better for me to have a baby than others TBH I'd do anything for a baby any month/season/date.

On a more helpful note if AF hasn't arrived yet there's still a chance. Have a look at this thread for some encouragement.

we're trting for number two too! but it's been two years, sorry. dd one conceieved after two 'attempts' the went on hormone injection contraception for a year not being told it's take about a year to become fertile again so spent a year trying for nothing and this year trying but to no avail, done ovulation tests which seem very hit and miss so this month have just tried doing 'it' every other day for about 10 days much to dh's apporval! watch this space!

Use the ovulation tests in secret, then go and use him anyway! He won't object!
I have been ttc for months now and really thought I was pg several times. However this month I was right!

congrats CMonkey, I might try and do the secretive route, he'll love being used without knowing it

Hope you have bags more success than I've had - but may I suggest you take a chill pill before you drive yourself totally bonkers!

Update for anyone interested, its Tuesday and still no AF which was due Friday. I did a pg test AGAIN on Sunday and still not PG. I think all the stress of things is making my body go bonkers!

chocolatedays I'm going to take your advice and chill.

it's sounds like you might have ovulated later then you think, which is why your AF is late (or hopefully you are pregnant) Do you know your body's signs of ovulation?

Am also TTC at the moment.

stress can delay ovulation.
