Hi worzel, welcome to mumsnet.
I've just been prescribed clomid today for the same reason. You may find you are just not ovulating every cycle.

Do you feel like you have problems with ovulation? for example do you use opk's etc.

anyway welcome again and good luck

Well i had my blood tests and despite having massive veins the phlebotomist or whatever she was has left me with a massive blue bruise on my arm

Hi 1Wish, How many 21 day bloods did you have to have to acertain that you needed clomid ? I have used the OPKS, I did for 3 months and had the same responce every month so stopped - a build up to a surge over 2 days then a surge on cd 11 or 12. I stopped using them as it was the same every month and the last month i got the surge but still apparently didnt ovulate so they were a waste of time.
I got a thermometer to start charting but in 6 weeks i ahve not rememberred it once so thats a waste of time too lol.

Whan do you start to take your clomid ? how do you feel about it ?

Thanks ArchiesMummy

hiya i'm also ttc no 2 at the minute we have a 15 month old DS.

jsut a thought pre ds I had the 21 day tests, and the dr said it had to be 7 days after ov'ing or there abouts so for you that would be CD19(ish) might be a thought?

Really ? If i get the same result then i'll mention it to my GP. The last time i had it down my level was only 2 which apparently is really low so anything improvement on that would be good eh !

Hi Worzel,

I am a sporadic poster on MN, although I lurk and read alot more on all the conception threads.

Moved to post on this one cos I am in your boat, TTC no 2, have almost 2.5 year old son and have been TTC no 2 for 12 months, this month is cycle 13.

I have had one day 21 blood test last month which came back as within the normal range (34) but we are on a list for referral to a gynae in 2 to 3 months time if it does not happen before then.

The way my GP practice operates is they only do the one day 21 test after you have been trying for a year and then even if that is normal you get referred for more tests under care of a gynae. So i will be dragging DH with me if we need to go so he can be tested too.

Good luck to you. if you do have to go on clomid it has something like a 60% success rate I believe.

There are a few of us TTC no 2 and around the one year of trying point.

I had hoped to be tested sooner than a year by my gp as i am now 37 but i was told i had to wait. I suppose i might have got referred quicker if had not had DS without any problems as they keep saying to me the fact we have one is a positive sign and of course it is but I do know there is such a thing as secondary infertility and worry cos age is no longer on my side. Hubby is a wee bit younger at 35.

All the best to you anyway.
