Hi to all,

My friend had suspitions of pg today as her af is 3 days late. So i told her i would buy the tests for her and she can take them at my house. So this afternoon she took on (cb) and it came up with a very very thin pale blue line that was more to the left than in the center?

With mine they were fairly thick just very very very faint, until my BFP !!!

She took the other one about 2 hours later and it was the same, is this a positive or do they need to be thicker? Has anyone else had this and what was the outcome? She is shitting herself as this is not a planned pg and to be honest I think its quite unwanted to! Any comments appreciated xxxxxxx

a line is still a line, if faint, if thin, if thick,

if there is a line where there should be a line it is positive

her doctor has to keep what she says confidential..i am presuming she is quite young?

xxkiexx · 08/06/2007 21:09

well no, she is 23 but she still lives at home and is very scared of her parents finding out. I've spoke to her and shes very emotional What makes it even worse is she knows about my pregnancy and now i know about hers so it seems like neither wants to say anything as both have different opinions!! i.e. im over the moon she is v upset

she needs to see the GP , a different one if she does not trust her own GP...but he is obliged to keep it confidential.......or go to family planning, especially if she is thinking she might not continue the pregnancy....good for you for supporting her x

was it a +/- one? have a look at peeonastick.com clearblue galleries, sometiems there are problems with these tests and time limits.

nest of luck

it was a clear blue +/- and it had a strong horizontal line and a thin vertical but it was there after about 2 minutes, ive looked on there and all i can find is the evaporation lines im pretty sure these arent evaporation lines as they were blue and within the time limit..........

oh ok, sounds like a + then.

in cb tests the dye is strongest on left hand side of line - she must be quite early pg then?

i dont know all she said was she is 3 days late, although she may have been fibbing and suspected she was? hmmmm, i dont think i shall say anything though!! I was hoping someone was going to say i had that and it was a negative eek oh well

ok last bit of advice needed from you loverly loverly ladies

she turned up on my doorstep early this morning waving a 2 pack of cb digital at me lol

so she took it and after the 3 minutes it came up not pregnant, well id read something about the test strips inside, so i took the test apart and the test strip had a quite clear 2nd line, so an hour later she took another and it was the same and the test strip had another line,,,,,,,

do these tests need a big blue line in order to read positive and if this is the case, does the faint line mean positive even though the digital part read bfn???

Two lines on a digital test mean nothing, you always get two lines on them.

Also you need more HGC to get a positive on those tests, so a BFN on a digital following other BFP tests are not relible.

i.e. Digital tests need to be taken later than other tests to get a positive result.

I wuld suggest she retests with the test she got a positive with before.

My digital test said "Not Pregnant," but the test stick has 2 lines. Am I really pregnant? The lines on the digital test stick (both Clearblue Easy Digital and e.p.t. Certainty) do not mean anything. They cannot be read like a regular test. See Secret of the Digital for an in-depth look at the digital test and a theory as to why there are two lines

thats great. thanks

I thought the test strip was just a cheapie wrapped up in expensive plastic!!!

they shouldn't do that though as it could lead alot of people to believe it is positive!! tut tut

Her doctor is certainly not going to say anything to her parents, but if in doubt, why doesn't she ask to see one of the female GPs at the practice? She's entitled to go and see any of the GPs, doesn't have to see the same one each time.

If your friends is freaking due to an unplanned pg is she in a committed relationship - if not then get to the GP ASAP and get a tested for STD's after all a baby is the best thing you can catch from unprotected sex!!!!

If she is in a committed r'ship then perhaps a little time to think things through before jumping into anything....
