long luteal phase - is it a problem?

I seem to ovulate around CD11 or 12 but have a 28 day cycle. Anyone know if that is a problem as opposed to a short phase? I wondered whether the egg has time to mature properly. I may be clutching at straws here after 15 months ttc (with one early mc) and that pre AF feeling once again!

Hi from what I have read a normal luteal phase lasts between 12-16 days so if you ovulate on cd 12 then that's fine. Are you sure that you're ovulating when you think you are? A very useful book to read is taking charge of your fertility by toni weschler. It might be that you are ovulating later than you think. Sorry to hear about your mc I wish you the best of luck for a bfp and soon

Thanks bcb. I think I do ovulate on cd12ish (by EWCM and also have a CB fertility monitor). Who knows why it is taking so long...
