Hi everyone, hope you can help ease my paranoia! Had Mirena removed after almost 5 period free years (originally got it for heavy bleeding and cramps). My DH and I are planning to TTC but I haven't had a period following removal - am slightly concerned that my body has forgotten how to ovulate (only half joking)!

Has anyone experienced anything similar to this? When I consult Dr Google he tells me that everyone is bleeding like there's no tomorrow straight after removal slight exaggeration

Thank you in advance Smile Thanks

I know the feeling. I had my Mirena removed in October after 4 and a half years. It took about 5 weeks for my period to return.

The nurse who removed mine said they should have come back within 6 weeks. I would recommend just holding out for a couple of weeks longer and then if it hasn't come making an appointment to see the doctor.

Thanks Shanghai for the reassurance, I will do my best attempt at having a bit of patience for another couple of weeks then Grin

Hi, I had my mirena removed in May and had a slight bleed a few days later but waited 6 weeks for first period. Felt like a lifetime! Now 6 weeks pregnant. Good luck!

Congratulations Lilyp! Smile Well AF arrived 2 days ago and I now remember why I got the coil in the first place! Hmm Grin

Fingers crossed my cycles settle down into something regular (not that they ever were in the past)...and that DH and I don't have to wait too long for a BFP Flowers
