Limbo land! Anyone else period late but bfn??

My normally cycle is 30-35 days I'm currently on day 44! Did a test on day 37 and 39 both negative. Driving me crazy!! Been off bc for 8 months and had a period every month. I've got back ache, strange shooting type pain in side of boobs and been more tired! Anyone else in the same boat?

I'm in a similar boat, Mrs B. I'm on CD30 and was due any time from 14th to 17th (today). I've been getting vague pale lines on my dip strip tests for a couple of days but never enough to say "Yes, that's a positive" and had very definite cramping on 10DPO. My nipples are actually aching now rather than just a little tender and I have masses (for me) of sticky white CM when I, er, poke around.

Have bought a First Response to test with in the morning but am ridiculously impatient for that. Don't know what I'll do if it's a BFN.

Well I am feeling a little up in the air as well. I mixed up my dates in my head, so took a test on Wednesday last week (which came up negative). Then I realised I was actually due this weekend, but I didn't get my AF at the weekend either.

We aren't trying at the moment, so I would be surprised if I was pregnant - but I don't know how long I should wait before testing again. Pregnancy tests are £££££££ here.

I'm not overly keen to be pregnant right now, and other than crazy mood swings last week (and feeling sick today for no reason), I've had no symptoms. So I'm happy to wait and see a bit longer!!

If there is nothing by the end of the week then I think I need to start worrying...

hello! may I join?

my cycles are always irregular, but this is the longest it's been in a while. this cycle I decided to ditch the ov sticks and just see what happens! well, am I regretting that decision now! I have no idea when I ovulated and I've lost track of what cycle day this is. I was expecting to start AF last week but it didn't happen. BFN. haven't had sex much the last two weeks though so don't want to get my hopes up.

have one last internet cheapy test left but I don't want to take it and have BFN! Sad

Hi Ladies.

I too am in a similar position. AF due either today or possibly tomorrow (normally have a 15 day LP so it should be tomorrow). 14dpo today and BFN on both an IC and FRER (did the IC first and didn't believe it so caved and cracked open the FRER which I wish I hadn't wasted now).

With my last pregnancy I had a positive on 8dpo, and I know all pregnancies are different but I think by now a positive would have happened. A bit gutted as I was certain we had done as we timed sex perfectly around my ovulation. :(

Ack well......just waiting for the old hag to make an appearance so I can move on to next cycle.

FX'd for you all though. MrsB when will you test again? Have you been charting your cycles?

Tickle let us know how you get on this morning. Hoping it's good news :)

Yep, i'm currently on CD 49 of what is normally a 31 day cycle! Taken about 10 tests and the only symptom I had (really sore nipples) has gone now. So annoying!

I did not test this morning as I have started cramping. No sign of the witch yet though, she is due today but can't bear to see anymore BFN's (last one was yesterday). Did a little, ahem, internal investigation (i do check CM and CP so not actually that unusual for me) and there's not even the hint of AF. CM was creamy yesterday but quite sticky today, although it has been like that thoughout the entire 2ww so not going to go off that too much.

Keith when are you not due the witch?

Tickle did you test yesterday?

Fx'd for some BFP's soon :)

I tested again today - it was a digital clear blue test, and it came back negative. So today is the 2nd day of missed AF.

There was about a 20-25 minute gap between me peeing and me testing though, as I had to actually go buy the test. I don't know if that could have an affect.

I was absolutely 100% expecting AF to come last night. It often arrives in the early hours of the morning, and I was having a slight backache yesterday, which again is normally a sign that AF is on the way. This morning? Nothing.

Today I am feeling really quite nauseous and my boobs feel weird. They don't "hurt" and they aren't sore, they just feel odd.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 19/08/2014 12:36

kaykay do you definitely know when you ovulated? You may have ov'd later than you thought, hence why no AF and BFN - only a thought, it could, of course, just be mother nature having a good old laugh.

I feel your pain - we are actively trying for #2; it took 13 months last time and I just can't bear to go through it again. Only difference this time around is that my body seems to have sorted itself out and I am regular (I have PCOS). I chart and I thought we timed sex perfectly (day I ov'd and a couple of days before), but a string of BFNs yet no hag witch so far (have been cramping on and off all morning and I am due today, so expecting her ugly red face any time!)

It's so frustrating. I have just had some Cake to cheer myself up (I said i wouldn't test today but i have done 3 Blush) only did the last 2 because i thought i could see something faint on the IC; think it was more wishful thinking because the Tesco's test couldn't have been any more negative and i think the last IC i did was an evap.

Angry

Hi MooleyWooley - I don't know for sure when I ovulated - since we aren't TTC it's not something I keep track of.

We had a bit of a misshap last Saturday (so 11 days ago), but I didn't take the morning after pill as I was thinking that I was right at the end of my cycle so there was just no way (I originally thought I was due on midweek last week due to mis counting dates).

I had really bad emotional swings the same weekend, so I might have just ovulated way later than I was expecting.

So I guess it could just be a longer cycle than usual, but I haven't had a cycle that lasted more than 28 days in well over a year.

I do wish that pregnancy symptoms were utterly different to pre menstrual symptoms. It's like a joke of nature that they are both so goddamn similar!!!

Good luck for today - if your cycle seems to have sorted itself out slightly then even if it isn't this month, hopefully it should take way less time than number one.

I totally feel your pain and that of others around here - this isn't even something that we are actively hoping for. I can't even imagine the frustration if actively ttc.

I have been through this last month - its the most difficult time.

In my case it wasn't the news I was hoping for.
Apparently I just missed a period - and that was for the first time in my adult life :(
Doctors still have no idea why and most imp how my FSH levels shot to 30 last month. These have now dropped - so TTC again!

Just hang in there girls and keep cool - fingers crossed for all of you!

Hi

I hope you don't mind me gatecrashing. I'm currently on day 27 of a 23 day cycle. Have been testing since Friday and all are BFNs.

The weird thing is I ovulated around the 3rd August and a couple of days later I bled for 2/3 days. Nothing heavy enough to be classed as a period but it was definitely there iyswim.

I've also been having symptons such as cramping, fatigue, a weird sicky feeling, being a bit irrational and needing to pee all the time.

So like you girls I'm in limbo land and just wanted to talk to someone else about rather than bore my DH. I also keep talking myself round in circles with the whole am I/aren't I. I'm telling myself I'm testing with tests with quite a high sensitivity and testing at the wrong time of time of day. (Which I am, must be more patient when I get my hands on a test!)

The thing is I'm massively impatient and I just want to know what's going on. Think I need to do a test tomorrow morning and see what the result is and then book myself into the see the doctor.

FX for all those waiting!

kaykayblue · 19/08/2014 14:55

I know exactly what you mean about the fatigue and the weird sicky feeling.

I don't normally do naps at all, but at the moment I am sleeping straight through the night, and honestly feel like I could sleep a good few hours in the day as well. So lethargic it's not even funny.

Shanghai - maybe you should wait until the weekend? Or until you are 7 days late - I've heard that most tests are accurate by then.

After the test I did this morning I only have one left, so am going to keep it until Sunday and take it then if AF doesn't turn up.

I have no clue how people can say they just "knew" when they were pregnant. About two years ago I had a month where I was 100% positive I was pregnant, yet AF turned up bang on time.

This time I just have no fucking idea and it's incredibly frustrating to not know what's happening with your own body.

Hi All :)

I often read these forums for support/ guidance whilst we have been TTC, so thought i'd bite the bullet and post for once.

I now also face 'limbo land' as I am 4 days late with af but all tests are BFN!! I don't want to get either my hopes up or those of my OH.....is it 'normal' for this to happen? ive never experienced it before and normally af arrives as predicted each month (cd 23 or 26) dependant on ov date.

I should add that I am the MOST impatient person ever!!

Confused

although, the whole of last year when I wasn't ttc I only had 5 periods, sometimes a 2-3 month gap. so they've never been regular and this isn't the longest cycle by any means.

Keith before I had DD my cycles were all over the place and after several months of trying i went to see my GP as I was very late. Turned out that I had PCOS, did not ovulate (maybe 2-3 times a year!) and had high levels of LH and Testosterone. If you are only having a small number of periods a year, with large gaps, I would suggest that you see your GP and have him/her do some blood tests. You can still bleed even though you don't ovulate, they will just be a lot different to a ovulatory cycle. After finally being prescribed Clomid, we conceived DD first month, but the journey there was by no means fun.

Since my periods returned after breast feeding I have had one every month and my cycles seem to average between 36-38 days. I chart and can now do OPKs (PCOSers should avoid OPKs as the LH is always present in high amounts) which has made TTC much easier (although this month is proving to be a complete head fuck!!!)

mooley I have been to the doctors before and been referred to gynae. I had scans, examinations and bloods done but they couldn't find anything. I have thought for a while that it could be PCOS but the consultant said I didn't have enough markers for it. I'm thin but not underweight, I was a very spotty teen but they've settled now, a bit hairy but not overly I don't think. tmi - I sweat a lot! is that a symptom?
I conceived DS without much trouble 5 years ago. I also conceived first month of trying earlier this year which sadly resulted in a miscarriage.

I promised myself when I get to 6 cycles after the MC (this is the third cycle. I got AF back in April, so April, May, July I had periods) that I would go back to the doctors.

Thanks
