Have I missed my ovulation? Using test kit and confused

So I have been getting faint lines on my ovulation kit. But the instructions say unless the test mark is as dark as the control mark then it is not a positive result. Mine had been getting darker and for the last 2 days they have completely disappared! I am now on day 25 of my cycle (I have only recently started periods again after BF my little one)and the gap between the two periods I have had was 38 days (I know!!).

Could this mean I did ovulate even with the faint line? I have been and still have a bit of the stringy white mucas which is a sign of ovulation.

Has anyone been pregnant and had this happen - I know I am prob clutching at straws!

Fingers crossed this month is my month

I should have said that they (the test lines) had been getting darker as days have worn on up until yesterday when the test line disappared but not to the point of being as dark as the control line which on the instructions says means it is not a 'positive' result

What time have you been testing ? I've heard some people say they test at 2pm and 6pm as they can miss it if you just do once per day. I think if I were you I'd go off the ewcm and class that as ovulation.

I second the ewcm watching too. Much more straightforward.

Good luck!

Are you using the Internet cheapies? I used them alongside clear blue dual hormone test and the internet cheapies only picked up changes for one morning. 9am a dark line and then nothing by midday. Maybe you're missing the short window when they show up. The clear blue gave me 2 days notice and then 2 days of peak (2nd day of my peak was when internet cheapies worked).

My lines never get quite as dark as each other, so we use 'close enough' as our positive result. This is on internet cheapies.
