Hi All,

Am in the dreaded 2ww after my 2nd attempt of ivf (bfn last time??). Had embryo transfer of a grade 5bb blast yesterday and am waiting to find out if my other 2 embies are developed enough today for freezing (fingers toes and eyes crossed!!).

So anyone else in an ivf cycle now?

Any success stories of 5bb blastocysts (could really do with the hope boost??)?

Any tips to get through the 2ww easier??

Hope to hear from some of you

Xxxx

Hi there,

I'm in the 2ww from my first IVF cycle. Testing on weds 13th aug. Currently 4dp5dt.

NO symptoms!!! I usually get spotting anywhere from 2-6 days before my period is due, but although I've not seen any yet, I don't think that's necessarily saying much as I'm on twice daily progesterone pessaries (crinone) which I believe should probably stop/delay bleeding anyway.

So I'm spending my time reading sites like these and googling for other people with no symptoms who go on to get BFPs... Usually I find the threads die off without any conclusions though, which is v annoying.

How did you go with the possibility of freezing? We didn't get any - Of our 10 eggs, we only ended up with the 1 blastocyst. The others dropped off during the process or fragmented or something.

Really hoping this one works as 1/10 eggs to blastocyst doesn't seem very good odds for a second attempt. :-(

Are you going to risk doing a home preg test before the official blood test? I am in 2 minds. If it's going to be negative I'd rather know in advance, to get used to the idea, but part of me feels as though I'm more likely to get a positive if I just hold out!! Completely illogical I'm sure.

Hey ladies. I just wanted to wish you both lots and lots of luck and a quick 2ww!

My clinic doesn't grade blasts like yours trying but I had a day 5 ET of 1 early blast and 1 multicell and got a BFP. I also had zero symptoms both before and after the result, except for slight implantation bleeding on 14 and 15 dpo. So smidge please don't take the lack of symptoms as a bad sign, it means nothing!

Good luck to you both again!

So good to know BFPs can follow zero symptoms chloechloe, thanks for that reassurance. (And congratulations!) My clinic also doesnt grade blastocysts, they just said mine was a 'good looking' blastocyst, whatever that might mean!

Must say I think I got used to the bloaty, somewhat painful feeling of being on all those FSH hormones and even following the egg retrieval - it kind of felt something was 'happening' unlike with all the failed natural attempts! Similarly I'm glad I have this crinone to apply twice a day as it helps me feel as if I'm doing something positive amongst this dreaded 2ww.

Just to update in case anyone comes along and checks this thread in the future - unfortunately my lack of symptoms turned out to be a BFN. Hoping for better luck next time.
