Possible pregnancy symptoms or I am going crazy ??

Hi, Im hoping there is someone out there hat can offer some advice.

I have PCOS and me and my partner have been TTC for 18 months, we have an appointment with an infertility doctor next month to discuss options and although we have unprotected sex and I chart my cycles I don't normally symptom watch or wait expectedly when my AF is due as I have just assumed we do need the extra help.

The thing is my period is now 8 days late and although I have PCOS my period are usually regular. I have a long cycle of 42 days which I know makes it harder to conceive naturally or so I have been told.

I feel utterly rubbish at the moment and after listing (and moaning) about all my symptoms to my partner last night it came to me that the symptoms I am having and my AF being a week late could indicate possible pregnancy ?? I would just like some advice of anyone that has gone through these symptoms as an early sign of pregnancy or maybe its all in my head and there's another reason my AF is MIA.

I have terrible headaches atm they seem to always be on my temples either side of my forehead, I am ridiculously tired and struggle to get out of bed in a morning, although I feel queasy occasionally it comes in little waves I don't actually feel like I am ever going to throw up, its normally just smells that trigger it, we went to cinema the other night and I normally wolf popcorn down but the smell was making me feels queasy and I had to cover my nose for the whole duration of the film.
I have a strange taste in my mouth like old blood or metal and my gums sometimes feel itchy- I saw my dentist and he said I have excellent oral hygiene.

My main symptom is I have a really heavy feeling in my abdomen like my period is going to start but when I go to the loo to check there is nothing there. I feel so bloated and full of wind, I'm rocking back and forth as I type this as it is so uncomfortable.

As I had the light bulb moment last night whilst listing my symptoms I held off my morning wee until I got to my local asda this morning , bought a test and did it there and then in asda toilets - BPN

is this all in my head or do I need to test again ?

I can't tell you for sure but the metallic taste in your mouth? I think you could be. And try another test tomorrow. Please keep this thread updated. crossing fingers for you

Those symptoms all sound exactly how I feel and I am four weeks pregnant (I think!!!). Dates are a bit sketchy cos I just had a mirena coil removed.

Can I ask what brand of test you bought? Perhaps try a first response.

I did a clear blue digital test.

Surely it would show up by now if I was ???

I feel like I'm going a bit mad now, I just either want my AF to arrive so we can cont trying or a BFP.

Has anyone got any experience of getting a negative result at what should be I think 4 weeks pregnant ???

I bought clear blue as I thought they were the best brand to use.

Clear Blue Digital are one of the less responsive tests. In general I think the non digital ones are more sensitive - First Response definitely is. Your symptoms sound like what I recall of early pregnancy, give it a few days and test again. Good luck!

Jen I'm in the identical situation to you, Mirena recently removed, lots of early pg symptoms but CB digital -ve. Apparently the cheaper tests are more sensitive as the react to a lower level of HcG. Keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

Bastard AF!! I had a v light period when 4 weeks with DS but not looking good this time. Ovulation sticks ordered x

Gutted! Although you never know!!

I couldn't hold off and tested again this morning- BFN!

I just wish my AF would turn up if I'm not preggers!

So it's still driving me crazy and I've been thinking about it all afternoon and how far preggers I would be if I got a BFP so like a crazy lady I used a due date calculator and put in my first day of last period and my usual cycle length and it calculated I would be 5 weeks pregnant and conception would of been 9th July. I know for a fact I did not have sex on the 9th July as my partner was away- we had sex on the 7th as my fertility predictor advised it was my fertile window !!

What does thus mean ? Does it mean to be pregnant I would of needed to of had sex on the 9th if so I know I will not be getting a BFP, or is it posdible to for conception to be 2 days after sex ???

It's possibly for conception to occur up to four days after sex, sperm can live that long.

Because of the way conception is rarely the moment you have sex and ovulation can vary, those due date calculators are not very accurate. I'd say if you dtd on the 7th you have a good chance.

So I thought I would just update my situation as I know it can be frustrating when you read a post you can relate to and there's no update.

so I am now 12 days for my period and still having cramps, weird taste, tiredness, slight nausea and headaches.

I tested just now with my 1st urine of the day using a sensitive test off the internet - BFN

So I have now accepted that I am not pregnant and my period is MIA for other reasons.
