Day 3 tests - can I do it a day earlier/later or do I need to wait till next cycle

Hello,
I am ovulating late this month and this will most likely mean that af will arrive on a Friday. So day 3 will be a Sunday. I am on a course on Monday and Tuesday so will either need to get it done on day 1 or day 6. will either of these be ok? I am looking at going private so would rather not pay for them to redo them. Missed day 3 last month as was on holiday so getting impatient.

It would obviously be nice if I got a bfp Grin but unlikely.

Hi, I recently had day 3 and 21 bloods done. My GP said day 5 would be ok but day 6 too late. She said day 2 would have been ok as well. I guess call and ask them but from what mine said it would need to be day 2-5. I had my 21 days done on day of a 28 day cycle which I think may have been a little late. Not had results yet so will see. I was obviously hoping for the BFP that everyone says will come along as soon as you start fertility investigations but its not happened yet.....!
How long have you been ttc?

Thank you. I am getting my day 21 done on day 21 but only ovulated day 18 so not sure what it will say. Now got to hope that my af arrives early or late so I can do my tests this month. Will need to contact the private hospital as my nhs gp thinks it can be done on any day of the cycle. Hmm Hmm

been trying for 9 cycles now. It is very frustrating. With dd I got pg about 2 weeks before my 1st fertility appointment with a Dr. (i did see the nurse but she wasn't particularly helpful.)Since they won't treat me now as I have a dd, I am getting the blood tests on the nhs and then will go private. (Hoping I will just need some fertility drugs rather than ivf or something else costly.)

I am also finding doing something is helping me as my last af was a chance to at least get my day 21 tests done.

how long have you been trying? when do you get results and are they at the hospital or gp?

Hi, I was told the day 3 should be one day either side of that but the day 21 should be approx 7 days after ovulation. This was day 25 for me but actually had it done on day 24 as 25 was a saturday. All normal and yes I was one of the lucky ones who got pregnant that cycle!

Thanks. my course has been cancelled so I should be able to go k Friday or Monday now. my Dr was quite insistent it was done on day 21 even if I ovulate later so it will be early. but then she didn't know that the other tests needed to be on day 3 so not sure she is an expert.

debating about whether to leave my day 21 test till later but thinking if it is earlier then at least it will be lower. (last time all my blood tests were normal even though my day 21 was done on day 32 so I was told to just keep on trying for another few months.)

congratulations on your pregnancy. Hoping starting this process will kick start my body into getting a bfp.

Hello, sorry I didn't reply. We have been trying for about a year, allowing for a couple of cycles where we weren't able to ttc. We are due to receive results at gp next week, I was able to check mine already as I am a nurse and mine look normal and show ovulation. I thin k as long as its more than a couple of days after ovulation and not less than a couple of days before af you are fine for day 21 bloods.

We are more worried about dh sperm analysis as he had an undescended testicle as a child. Are you looking into doing an SA as well?

Good luck!

Thank you.

sounds like good news for you. hope that your other half is ok. my dh is getting his sperm done too but he had it done last time and he was a certified stud Hmm . glad that the problems for us are just on one side but it is rubbish that it is all my fault! he is very patient but I feel useless.
