No period for 3 months blood tests 'normal'

I came off the pill in October last year and had about 7 cycles after that and then my periods just stopped and I haven't had one now for 4 months. I had a similar problem back when I was a teenager (I'm 33 now), the only difference this time being that there is a chance I could have conceived. Anyway, to cut a long story short I have had blood tests to check my thyroid function and my hormone levels and have been referred for an ultrasound. I got the results back from the hormone test today and it's all normal (and I'm not pregnant either as they checked that). My thyroid function is fine too. So, I am totally confused and at a total loss as to why I don't get periods. The dr did suggest the possibility of taking something to induce a period (is it provera??) when I was there on Monday (before the hormone blood tests) but we thought it best to wait for the results.
She said not to go back until I'd had the ultrasound which I'm assuming will be ok too (the one I had years ago was; all they found was a retroverted uterus). So, I was just wandering if anyone had any advice. I like this dr but I'm meant to be moving house soon, it's only up the road but if I'm out of their area they might make me change and I don't want to.

Anyone got any ideas on this or have experienced a similar situation?? I'd really appreciate some advice.

Sorry, my experience isn't exactly the same, it took my periods almost a year to return after the pill, this sounds a bit odd.. Might you have had a very early mc and missed it? Do you track your bbt?

Are you effected by stress or heat? A few years ago I spent a few months in a hot country, missed every period until I left. My last cycle was 2 weeks longer than usual- I was very stressed and it appeared as soon as the main cause of stress stopped. Any stress, sickness etc that may have caused it?

Thanks for the replies. I haven't been tracking my bbt because I had no idea where/when to start.
Funny you should mention hot countries though as I am on holiday, it's really hot and now I've got my period. Couldn't have come at a more inconvenient time!!
My job can be stressful and I am off work just now so that could be a reason.
I think I'll go for the ultrasound anyway when it comes through, just to reassure myself.
Thanks again.
