I came off the pill in October last year and had about 7 cycles after that and then my periods just stopped and I haven't had one now for 4 months. I had a similar problem back when I was a teenager (I'm 33 now), the only difference this time being that there is a chance I could have conceived. Anyway, to cut a long story short I have had blood tests to check my thyroid function and my hormone levels and have been referred for an ultrasound. I got the results back from the hormone test today and it's all normal (and I'm not pregnant either as they checked that). My thyroid function is fine too. So, I am totally confused and at a total loss as to why I don't get periods. The dr did suggest the possibility of taking something to induce a period (is it provera??) when I was there on Monday (before the hormone blood tests) but we thought it best to wait for the results.
She said not to go back until I'd had the ultrasound which I'm assuming will be ok too (the one I had years ago was; all they found was a retroverted uterus). So, I was just wandering if anyone had any advice. I like this dr but I'm meant to be moving house soon, it's only up the road but if I'm out of their area they might make me change and I don't want to.
