No Periods :(

Morning all,

I was a late starter with my periods about 15/16 if i remember correctly. They were never regular and I can't remember having that many of them.

I remember going to the gynaecologist who said he would have been more worried if I'd have never had one at all. I would not say that I was excessively over weight at that point ( I had puppy fat yes ). Nothing was ever followed up so I thought i need to wait for them to come back. I suppose I thought it was normal.

I had a scan on my ovaries many years ago and if I remember correctly one of my ovaries was a little smaller I think and far back? (Again this was a long time ago)

Now I am 26 soon to be 27 and I really do want to have a family with my partner some time in the near future and I am scared in case I can not have children.

I had the implant in for 2 years and it was removed in November 2013, since having it removed still no periods but I didn't expect them to come back any way to be honest.

I still have discharge and it does through the different stages so I guess i am ovulating, but not bleeding?

I decided I had left things long enough and went to the doctors on Monday and told the doctor my concerns. I had some blood tests to check my hormone levels, all of which are fine.

She is arranging for me to have a scan on my ovaries and womb, and I am petrified. Why is it that I do no bleed?

I was just wondering if anyone out there has had or is going through the same thing?

Just wanted to reassure you. I have always been the same. Started my periods late, then would maybe get
1-3 a year. They ruled out PCOS and decided it was a hormonal problem. Started on the pill & had periods like
clockwork until I had to stop taking it for other medical reasons. Started using the copper coil and again had very sporadic periods.

I have had concerns in the back of my mind since my early twenties about how on earth I would conceive. I had always been convinced we would struggle.

It took us 6 weeks. Had a period when my coil came out DTD several times over the next 10-14 days as per a normal cycle and a month later had a BFP Smile
I can only think that I have been ovulating but not bleeding too?? Stopped breastfeeding in Feb & have only had 2 periods since.

DD now 18 months & I had my coil out yesterday to start trying for DC2. All my old worries about struggling to conceive have resurfaced so I really feel for you. Could you maybe try some of the ovulation predictor kits for a couple of months just to give you an idea of your cycle? I'm happy your GP is sending you for a scan promptly, hopefully it will be clear like the last one. And just keep pouncing on your OH, the more you DTD, the more chance you have of catching the window!

Really wish you all the best with this.

Hello.

Bit of an update

I had the results from my scan back and everything is normal. So that's my hormones normal and scan so WHY do I not have periods ?!? :(

did they check your endo lining thickness?

I'm still in early phases so not too knowledgeable unfortunately but my lining was only 4,8mm, apparently should be about 10-15mm! my periods are sporadic and literally just a bit of spotting not a proper period. may be that?

They checked my uterus lining and said that it was thin with no bumps.....

I really am at a loss if everything is normal why no periods :(
