I'm waiting. Due on in around a week. 4 cycle of trying for DC3. It'd be great to catch this month as I would qualify for maternity allowance! (Just left my job). But I don't think I have, I keep prodding my boobs hopefully & not a twinge.

Fingers crossed for you Elizabeth. When are you going to test?

Yes please! I'm 2DPO too, 3rd cycle TTC, this month we were absolutely militant about it, so suddenly stakes feel higher - TWW is going to be loooooooong.
Already googling 'early pregnancy symptoms', as I have serious lower back ache and felt sick last night - I'm well aware of how ridiculous this is...

nomdemere · 26/06/2014 11:23

ha ha perpetual, I have been googling the same thing! I have been pretty tired the last couple of nights - but I am always tired (have 3 DC) so that is meaningless. I also felt very hungry yesterday, but I think I was just allowing my natural greed to surface, rather than it being a symptom.

Lol at 'allowing my natural greed to surface' - was listening to a woman on R4 recently saying how we should 'listen to our bodies and eat what they guide us to'.
Left to it's own devices, mine guides me to my own body weight in cheese. Every time!
What early symptoms did you have with other DCs Nomdemere? (Let the obsessing begin)

ElizabethMedora · 26/06/2014 11:44

I have a spot which I am very hopeful about! But having convinced myself in our first cycle that I felt sick for the whole 2ww I am trying not to make up symptoms symptom spot as I don't want to get my hopes up!

nomdemere so is this DC4 you are trying for? Hard off to you!

PerpetualStudent do you have DC already or is it no.1?

Report
ElizabethMedora · 26/06/2014 11:49

Hats off. Not hard off Hmm

Report
PerpetualStudent · 26/06/2014 11:49

No, sorry to be confusing - I was referring to my general, not pregnancy related, greed! This is my first time TTC, so no DCs, just a half finished PhD, which feels just as demanding sometimes!

ooh I'll join, I'm 6DPO but I ov really early (cd8) so the wait for AF (arund 10th July) for me seems to drag. Bored already.

I haven't even got any imaginaray symptoms to google though, very jeaous of you perpetual and nom haha

nomdemere · 26/06/2014 11:54

Okay, I'll let you play it cool, Elizabeth

Perpetual - cheese is my downfall too. Now I only keep cheddar for the DC in the fridge as otherwise I would eat mountains of the stuff actually I still do because the cheddar is pretty tasty in a pinch

With the first 3, I didn't notice any symptoms until I was about 5 weeks each time. With DC1 I got a strange metallic taste in my mouth, and that was the first sign. With DC2, my first inkling was when I found myself in the kitchen making a delicious breakfast for myself of sardines with pesto Hmm And with DC3 I was too occupied with two toddlers to notice anything at all.

From about 5-6 weeks I was horrendously tired and constantly nauseous, and it was unmistakeable, but before that, zilch.

Hi all, never posted on here. One cycle 2 of Clomid for PCOS, 1st cycle didnt work but scan on Monday showed nice juicy egg ready to pop. Been DTD most days this week, think I am 2DPO so the 2 week wait begins. Just keeping fingers crossed, been TTC #1 for 15 months now.

Good luck to you all, nice to know there are others out there also waiting!

Welcome Sarah and Blondie!

I have just been down to the fridge for a large hunk of cheese. Now feeling slightly sick. Pretty sure that neither of these are symptoms, though.

Welcome fellow TWW-ers!
I had cheese & oatcakes for lunch in honour of thid thread.
Thanks for info on symptoms Nom, from what I've read around 5 weeks is usual for early symptoms so why am I obsessing ready?!
Here's a question for you all - if you avoid alcohol etc during your TWW, & you don't want to tell all & sundry you're TTC, how do you turn down offers of drinks/nights out? Perhaps this is just testament to my own boozy lifestyle/friends, but Im going to a wedding on Sat, & want to avoid awkward questions on why Im turning down prosecco...

nomdemere · 27/06/2014 08:51

I slept very deeply and with weird dreams last night. I do that a lot when I am pg.

With my first, when I didn't want to drink but didn't want to tell anyone either, I used to accept a drink, and hold it to my lips, then put it down somewhere and just 'forget' about it. Don't know if that tactic would work, Perpetual? For the toast, etc. you could just hold the glass up, and look like you're taking a drink without actually doing so IYSWIM?

I actually just continue to drink (lightly) during the 2WW. I don't go for big nights out anyway & I probably do drink less than normal but eg I had a glass of prosecco last night & a gin&tonic the night before because I was with friends. At a wedding I would maybe just go a bit more slowly than if not TTC?!

Hey all, also 3dpo here, have felt tired, hungry lots and lower back ache!! We will drive ourselves crazy 'listening' to our bodies huh!

perpetualstudent I often say I am not feeling well/have a headache etc, but fortunately have not had to say it too much! I will next Friday though as we have a work tHing.

elizabeth I know of others that continue as normal until bfp and on another thread they say the doc says to do the same.. So maybe one or two is fine!

Report
nomdemere · 27/06/2014 10:05

I am now using this as an excuse to eat my own bodyweight in cheese. If I am not pg, I shall feel rather ashamed of myself.

Had to join to stop myself driving myself insane! Af should start sometime mon - Thurs, feels like forever! The not knowing is more irritating than I ever would have thought. This is our first month ttc and I'm already going mad which is ridiculous.

Can I join? I mainly lurk on here! I am 8 dpo ttc no.3. I have a short luteal phase though so I am expecting AF any minute! Not feeling massively positive about getting pg this time - feeling older and like my body is going downhill!

Report
MollyWhuppie · 27/06/2014 14:53

Drinking wise I always continue to drink a couple of drinks in the tww if we are going out with other people who may get suspicious. Then when I've had enough, you can just nurse a drink and people won't notice as they've already had a few already!

Drinking a bit of alcohol won't have any impact on any potential baby at such an early stage. Cutting down in general is better for fertility though.

nomdemere · 27/06/2014 14:56

hello Holly. Good luck. Don't worry about being older, I guarantee you're younger than me

Thanks for the advice ladies!
Nom I've had a couple of night of vivid dreams too, also felt achy, bloaty & lightheaded today, so obvs pregnant, right?! ;p

As I said to DP last night, AF, pregnancy, cysts - doesn't seem to matter what's going on down there, symptoms are all the same!

Cannot believe how much this TWW is dragging already - looking forward to living vicariously though those ladies who are due a BFP next week/sooner - keep us updated!

Hello, can I join in this one? I'm pretty sure I ovulated today or maybe yesterday and dtd on Wednesday, so either 1 or 2 days before. I did opks for a few days leading up to it and got a faint line yesterday so didn't bother doing any more, that would be right according to my calendar.

So I'm just starting the tww, it's our 4th month trying for our 2nd. I have to say that we're not really trying very hard, I work shifts and DH isn't too keen on sex where there's a lot of pressure so it's difficult! But we already have a demanding toddler so we're just being rather half hearted about the actual trying! I do get obsessed in the tww though, it's impossible not to analyse every little thing!

Good luck to all xx

I have had quite a lot of crampy pains this cycle which I am hoping are implantation related. I can't remember if I had any tww symptoms the last times - I have a feeling I didn't feel anything at all for the first 6 weeks!

God I hate the 2WW. In fact I hate everything about "trying". I guess we have been fortunate before as our first DC was unplanned & our second DC was conceived straight away so I haven't had this experience before. This is only the 4th cycle so it's not like we have had a really hard time of it so far or anything, but argh! I'm on day 34 now, but last month's cycle was 40 days so could still be a while to go. & the fact that my cycles are lengthening is really pissing me off too because it makes the whole process take so much longer! Gosh, I am really impatient & grumpy about it tonight, aren't it Grin
