So iv posted alot lately...hope im not annoying anyone Hmm
I have PCOS & am on Metformin to try help me Ovulate/reg cycles. My last cycles have been 35, 39, 42, 45, 33, 45 & last one 56 days!!!

This month i have been on dc watch since day 3 after period had finished.
On day 10 i had the ewcm, then on day 22-23 had creamy dc then it turned to watery, and there was lots!! day 24-25 still watery but had slight stretch to it....not exactly ewcm i dont think..but it did stretch about 1cm between fingers.
I done opk tests on day 22;23 & 24 had a line show up but faint. Didnt get any darker tho if anything the one on day 24 was a little lighter than day before.

With PCOS i know the opk arnt reliable but i done them anyway just to see. I am also aware that your body can gear up to Ov more than once with PCOS & may not even Ov.

So i prob havent Ov'd but im sitting tight to see what the next few weeks bring...we have dtd plenty over past few weeks so will have to see.

Anyone else wanna join...not knowing if Ov has happend at all?? But is wishing on a star with me? Xx

Are you having any other treatment other than the Metformin?. Are you under the care of a gynae at a subfertility unit?.

Clomid and metformin can be used in combination and this can sometimes give good results. However, if this is offered you should be closely monitored as clomid can and does affect hormone levels markedly.

Ovulation is less likely to happen spontaneously with PCOS generally speaking. Have you had any recent blood tests done to see what your LH and FSH levels are in comparison to each other?. I ask this because with PCOS many women find they are producing too much LH and not enough FSH.

I would also reconsider using the OPKs as you'd be better off spending that cash on something else.

So sorry you are experiencing this hell. I would recommend temping instead, to truly confirm if ovulation is happening or not. I didn't ovulate last two cycles with the last one being 43 days. Like you though, I could only guess- didn't get a +VE OPK either, no symptoms, odd AFs etc.

This cycle I bought a bbt thermometer for about 4 pounds and have confirmed I did ovulate on CD18. I found taking out the guesswork and uncertainty has helped my sanity. It would also give you proof to take to your doctors appointments.

Hi hun.
Thanks again for your help & advice kitty
I was the one who posted my temp chart this morning & you commented. It is hard to tell tho as i only started half way through my cycle!
I will get a bbt but i have tried 4 local chemists & none have them!
Been using a digi thermometer...i kno it wont be as accurate but better than nothing i guess.

It drives me insane, not knowing when or if i am ovulating Sad xxx

I also have irregular cycles, with days going over 40-50 days.
It was really hard to pin point ovulation days. But since using the BBT I have started to at least confirm ovulation days which I was dreading not happening. The days are normally 2-4 days apart so it helps a lot. Would defo recommend in purchasing one.

Good luck with it all!

Thats really good to hear indigo
I am afraid of finding that i dont ov....i have started half way through this cycle so im aware it wont be as reliable.
Im not sure how it works exactly but been advised that you norm get a dip before ov, then 3 higher temps following will confirm it :)
I had a dip on day 28 & had 2 higher temps last 2 days...so really hoping this will mean i have ov!!
With your irreg long cycles what days do you find you ov on indigo ?? Xxx

Hi, can I join in?

I'm 36 and TTC since January. I was diagnosed with PCOS in my early 20s back at home in Spain, given BC and call it the day.

My first cycle after BC was 47 days long and I was getting several sugar crashes, so I went to see my GP and told him about my PCOS. He just smiled, nod and told me to keep trying. He took some blood tests, to check my thyroid and blood sugar (he didn't test fasting insulin). Everything came out normal, so that was it.

I started eating low GI (ish) and exercising regularly. Second cycle 53 days long (WTF)! I read that Inositol could help, so I started taking it and that third cycle went down to 35 days!

I tried to chart my BBT, but I was waking up in the middle of the night stressed about forgetting to take my temp, so I stopped ( I didn't need any more added stress). So I bought a bunch of cheap OPK from amazon and decided to test every day from day 9 until the end of the cycles just in case there was more than one surge. I've been doing this for 2 cycles and so far I only detected one LH surge per month.

This month I got an + OPK on day 16, although I'm not sure I ovulated, we DTD a lot before and after just in case Wink.

Now I'm on day 22, I haven't detected any other LH surge and I don't have any symptom whatsoever, will see.

Wow, sorry for the long post...

Hi donttellme
Ov course you can join hun.

I have read about inositol...so it does help regulate ya cycles. Did you get the +opk after taking it too?
Congrats on the ov!! Grin

Iv just started charting & hoping i have ovulated...fingers crossed. What day did you get ur +opk? Im on day 30 now.
I tried using the opk altho i got a line twice on two corrosponding days but only faint.

Xx

I started taking Inositol at the beginning of my last cycle, then I started using opk on day 9 of that same cycle. This month I got a positive one on day 16. My ovulation tracker says I should preg test in 5 days, but I'm not holding too many hopes as I read in another thread that if you are pregnant you keep getting +opk after ovulation. Not sure until which point this theory is accurate.

By the way, I'm taking Inositol under my own responsibility, no doctor recommended it to me.

How long have you been taking metformin? Have you noticed any difference?

Awww i will keep my fingers crossed for you. X
Day 16 is good Smile
Im a little worried as if i have ov its around day 25-28 & i think it is too late in the cycle!!

I have been on Metformin for 18months now..my cycleshave improved a little. Used to be 48-72 days..now are 35-45 but last one was 56!

I actually made a post about the opk showing positive if pregnant, as i read a few people had experimented & it showed correct...but then others said not.
I would wait & see hun, dont go by that. All the best xx

Ah, so it was you! Hahaha.

Yes, will have to wait and see.

I guess the best thing we can do, especially us pcos'ers is to dtd a lot so we don't miss ovulation, whenever that happens, if it happens at all. I'm exhausted!

Well, I'm going to pack boxes. We're moving next Tuesday and I shouldn't be here goofing around on the Internet

Haha. Yes it was me...wanted to read others opinions & if anyone else found it was true in their case.

Ok hun ..you go pack those boxes. Hope to hear from you soon with a BFP!!!

It really is a bummer when you just don't know your ovulation days. With long cycles it really gives us less chance for more tries, but its all about catching the right time as they say. Hopefully...

@1moretime- when I first started using a BBT I also started half way, so couldn't and didn't really see a dip or rise.
But so far I have done 2 full cycles of using BBT, and the 1st time I ovulated was on day 24 and this cycle I ovulated on the 26th.

I am currently on 12dpo and just playing the waiting game. few symptoms but with 1 bfn I thought il wait it out until Tues.
It shows my luteal phase is apparently 16 days, so can predict when to expect my period, which is also great. I didn't really enjoy using the opks as it didn't work for me due to work times and just found it really inconvenient when I needed to use them. All I kept seeing was no 2nd line or really really light lines.

But everyone has something that works for them.

Hi indigo ohhh how exciting not too much longer to wait. So if your luteal phase is 16 days you will need to wait another 4 days before testing?

Im glad that you have managed to see you have ov charting your temp :-)
I am really happy i have had a temp rise the last 4 days, but another poster has said not to get too excited as with pcos, your temps go up & down all the time Sad
So dont know what to think. If i have ov then im 4dpo now...if not then iv no idea as my last cycle was 56 days long. Im now on day 32.

I really hope you get a bfp soon indigo
How are you feeling? Xxx
