I seem to remember there was a year thread when I first joined for 2013 but that didn't go my way. I can't see a 2014 one but I am determined to get my BFP in 2014 and hoping positive mental attitude will help.

Thought if see if anyone wants to join with 2014 goal to get upduffed rather than a monthly bus - some of us just need a longer term strategy!

As a first message (on my own thread!) thought I would add that we have been trying for 16 cycles now. Had all the tests - I'm the problem - but first face to face meeting with fertility clinic in Jan so feeling hopeful!

Come on 2014!

Wishing you all the luck for 2014 smile

We only came off the pill in Nov but also hoping 2014 is our year.

Too exciting x

DulcetMoans Sat 28-Dec-13 14:14:25

Good luck toots! You found your way to mumsnet quickly - hope it helps!

I've just had my first appt at the infertility clinic and also expected at BFP in 2013. At the moment having to use protection as waiting on getting my tubes checked in a few weeks time and you can't be pregnant hahah. Irony much? Its only for a few weeks though. Good luck!

Hi everyone, I'm hoping for a Bfp in 2014 too, came off the pill a year ago to get cycles back to start ttc dec 2013 and find out got pcos :/ have started investigations and have also got hycosy booked for end of jan unicorns - I'm not using protection until a couple of weeks before though, I had to wait 8 weeks for my appointment and didn't want to 'waste' any potential fertile time!
Good luck to everyone else, let's hope we don't need to use this thread for too long smile

Floweroct Sat 28-Dec-13 14:40:00

Me please!

Came off pill sept 2011, got bfp oct 2012 but had mmc dec 2012. Have pcos, been on clomid, on ivf waiting list and should have tubes checked in jan if no bfp! So really wishing for a 2014 bfp smile

gwenabee 8 week wait? I wouldn't use protection for that long either. My first appt was 23rd of Dec and they phoned the same day to book the second appt immediately, which is the 9th of Jan. My issue seems to be anovulation. 9 cycles in the last year and only seeing a temperature shift in some cycles.

Been told to relax and stress might have a part to play in it! Easier said than done.

Me Please!! I never thought that after being broody for so long that when the time came for us to start ttc it would be so fucking difficult!

11months, and currently having my 2nd MC, two out of my three best friends are pregnant and I'm in a childish "IT'S NOT FAIR" rut! hmm

So I'm joining here with everything crossed! smile

UnicornsNotRiddenByGrownUps Sat 28-Dec-13 18:33:29

MissHobart what a difficult time to be MC. Its hard when everyone around you is getting pregnant too.

Fuzzyduck21 Sat 28-Dec-13 19:26:21

Can I join? I've only just started on the ttc journey but hopeful that 2014 will bring us some good news. Had my implant removed around 3 weeks ago so not expecting things to happen overnight but still hopeful!

Good luck to everyone for 2014!!

Hello ladies! Welcome on board!

Such a range of issues between us but hopefully 2014 will bring us what we deserve. 8 weeks feels like a long old time but I know it can be longer. Between first trip to docs and the fertility clinic appointment has been about four months but we have had all the tests in that time and I know it's a lot quicker than some areas.

Christmas does being another unexpected benefit - lots of time for lots of sex! (And we got a kitten so that has distracted me for a bit too!)

Apparently the most popular birthday in the UK links to babies conceived on NYE...!

Won't be us then! Condoms until the 9th sad

AMC85 Mon 30-Dec-13 13:54:05

Hello everyone!

I'm hoping I get my BFP soon! Having implant out on 13th (earliest they can give me an appt) then it will be all systems go!!!

Lottiedoubtie Mon 30-Dec-13 14:10:56

I'm in. Halfway through the tww. But don't think I am pregnant this time. Been trying intermittently in 2013 ( I have issues and am seeing someone for them).

Hopefully 2014 is the year!

juniper81 Mon 30-Dec-13 17:21:46

I'm in!
Best of luck everyone. I'd hoped 2013 would be the year so all systems go for 2014.

misshobart so sorry about the mc. xx

Hello and good luck TTCers :D

I joined the 2012 TTC board and have my nearly 2 year old DD as proof.

We had a lovely wee group and we still chat regularly and meet up now
Wishing you all much conception success and happiness in 2014 grin

mumtosome61 Mon 30-Dec-13 17:31:15

I'm tentatively dipping my toe in here - it's a secret and no-one other than OH knows that I'm desperately broody for the first time in my life. I am hoping at some point, even if it's middle-year, for a BFP grin.

We're not TTC right now as I am on an imposed "Make sure you are sure" condition (I've never been broody, I'm 29 and we're renovating a 3 bed-house) but I'm working on it...

OneInAMinion Tue 31-Dec-13 11:13:40

Hey ladies, I'm brand new to Mumsnet & would love to join if that's okay? We've been TTC for 15 months now with no BFPs & no MCs, ever - just radio silence. We've had various tests done now (HSG, SA, blood tests, etc.) & we get the results later today, so at least we'll start 2014 off knowing. I'm feeling slightly anxious about our appointment & totally clueless as we just started trying without doing any real homework, charting, etc. as we thought that'd be more relaxed (& because I have an obsessive personality). So I've no idea what to expect really or what our options might be shock

Here's hoping that 2014 is the year for all of us! x

SweepTheHalls Tue 31-Dec-13 11:17:53

I'm in, trying for no. 3 for 13 cycles now hmm makes no sense as DS 1 and 2 didn't take anywhere near this long.

m33r Tue 31-Dec-13 13:05:44

Me too.

We've been ttc since last December and really thought I'd have a bouncing baby by now or a least a huge bump! How naive! Had 21 day test. DH checked and all good. Just waiting for fertility appt.

Trying to convince myself it takes loads of people this long!

Strategy for first six months was try to ttc at 'right' times then went to opks in May. Gave temping a go but wasn't for me.

Come on 2014!!!!

OneInAMinion Tue 31-Dec-13 15:03:09

m33r - OPKs were a disaster for me...I tried them for a couple of months & they said that I never ovulated ever, when the blood tests said I did. When I went to see my doctor she said they don't work for everyone & that they hadn't worked for her...and she was 7 months pregnant at the time. It's all so tricksy!

m33r Tue 31-Dec-13 15:19:57

It's so tough to know the right thing to do one. They help us as DH works away quite a lot but I sometimes wonder if we're mis-directing our focus ...

Onward for 2014 ...

fausher Tue 31-Dec-13 15:39:56

Hi Ladies!
I'm 29, DH is 30. TTC since Feb 2012.

AF is due on 4th (28 day cycle) I havent tested yet as I am afraid of getting disappointed yet once again hmm
Today is 9DPO and I am having dizziness. Cannot stand for more than 10 minutes and have a heavy head too.
I do have some symptoms this cycle... not sure its AF or BFP.
Sore nipples, faint cramping on left inner side of the back(I had these in my last cycle too), uterine cramping on 8 DPO, creamy discharge on 7 DPO (TMI).
I am taking folic acid, and my Doctor told me to take Duphaston 5 days before expected AF.
Any idea what these symptoms are about?
