Well done on the new thread Bunny and even more well done on telling your manager today. I'm glad he was so positive about it Thanks if it helps, I still don't quite believe that DH & I are very likely heading for IVF; it just seems like something that happens to other people, and I am so very sad that our "OMG we're having a baby" type process is going to be medicalized. Is that even a word? You know what I mean. I think this sort of thing takes time to get your head around and feel good about. We will get there in the end Thanks

Seconded merk!

I have a question for fellow berries: how far have you prepared / changed your life in hope of welcoming a mini-berry?

I have just handed in notice on our flat to move to a wee house for example. This might be me taking positive thinking too far!

Gosh sid yeah that's exactly how I feel! The fact that it's not happening naturally is so sad.
Remind me again what your problems are, I forget.

I can't see this being my lucky thread, mrs positive aren't I Confused

Bunny that deserves a huge sausage wang
MrsW on the contrary we did nothing to prepare as I got the the point I didn't think it would ever happen didn't want to tempt fate. Now we are in the process of hurriedly selling our flat (too many steps for a pushchair) and car (a 2 door) to accommodate miniMerk next year!

Oooooo lovely new thread Bunny. 14 threads though and I've missed the shuttle every time! Safe to say this won't be my thread. I'm just here to keep HQ in order and wave you all off as you depart in the chopper oh and drink copious amounts of vino to celebrate our Berry birthday in a few weeks
Sid and Bunny I completely agree that its very sad that something that should be such an exciting time has turned in to a nightmare. But I also try to remember that once we all get our babies we won't give this hideous time a second thought Smile
Good luck to envy one for this thread, may your Palaces of the Child be very productive!

Wait for me! Please could you add me to the list?

Charmingcats, 32. Ttc since August 2012. Pcos. Will start clomid once current cycle ends, but it may be another long one...taking metformin.

Hello feathers and mrsw . The cat owning teacher berries are being diluted.... Wink

Class trip today. Am exhausted, but came home early. It feels like a Saturday cos I've had more than 2 hours at home before bedtime!

Chatted to fc nurse again tonight. We're going away for half term, which could scupper things with clomid. Decided to up my dose of metformin again (had gone down to 2 tabs from 3 due to side effects, but my cycle has got longer again and no ov signs) and not take the provera to bring on a bleed for another couple of weeks. Hoping that I can time it so that I have af at the end of hol. It does mean waiting for another 5 weeks to start clomid, but I want to be around for the scans. Perhaps the metformin will regulate things in the meantime anyway.... Ho hum.

Ooohhh, fancy n fresh new thread! May it brim over with bfps!

Sid - the tiredness gets less the more cycles of clomid you have, although I hope this is your first and last! I've found that if I took them right before bed, then I'd sleep through the majority of the side effects. Except the hot flushes. And the headaches. How many mg's are you on?

RP - no idea why the nurse ruled it out. When I told her I was cycle day 35 and getting bfn's, she said it was 'very highly unlikely' it could turn into a bfp.

bunny - very brave and cool of you to tell your boss. Can't imagine telling mine.

Merkin - I'm cd36, 18dpo, af 5 days late, a sh*tload of bfns.

mrswalker - well, I've cut down on the wine and I'm not doing crazy amounts of exercise, but I think that's more to do with being lazy than trying to get a bfp. Blush

Was very down yesterday so just wanted to say thank you all for making me giggle and making me feel so welcome. Flowers Feeling much better today - got my hair cut and blow dried and feel all swishy! Highly recommend it as a mood booster!

Ps. What the hell is an 'instadiffer'? I promise to get my head round the lingo soon!

Report
CatsCantFlyFast · 26/09/2013 21:26

Instadiffer is somebody who gets pregnant (diffed) pretty much straight away (instantly) when they start trying. There was a few instances where new people joined the berries -i remember one person specifically who still makes me irrationally angry when i think about it who had only just started TTC and then immediately got their BFPs, which is a real slap in the face for berries who have been trying a long time.

Merkin - no idea if I o'd - was on hols and took the month off clomid/temping/OV testing. We Dtd lots while away though and also when we got back (sorry - tmi!), so who knows!

Symptoms: headaches, achey knockers, ovary twitches and pains, and even a bit of light pinky brown cm last Thursday. Almost like a few days before af arrives - then it totally stopped. I don't know what's going on, although I figure it's all to do with stopping clomid for the first time in five months. Confused

Bad merk!

CD14 here and haven't DTD since day 10 so no teeny weeny chance for me, at least it takes the pressure off this month which has been nice.

Hello shiny new Palace thread!

CD22 for me, 11 DPO. I don't think this will be my month; my cycle has been all over the place and we only DTD 3 times as DH was away. After 2 months of no spotting at all I've had pretty constant spotting since 6DPO. I've formed a bit of a pimping habit too.... I ordered some ICs last weekend so have just pimped every morning; I find it has made this 2ww easier than the last couple because I feel like I know where I am. Plus I have pretty low expectations.

Bunny well done for telling your boss; hell would freeze over before I would tell any of my colleagues Hmm.

MrsW We've moved into a house, although that wasn't really planning for a mini-berry as we'd planned to sell our two flats anyway. We have a stupidly impractical car and had sort of planned to get a more family friendly one, but DH is now desperate for a different sports car. I've actually booked a ski trip for Christmas, so I'm almost un-planning!

Just marking my place. Think AF is imminent, just wiped and the tell tale start of it, so to speak. Ho hum, another egg bites the dust. Will finally get round to taking the clomid that I was prescribed back in July. Not expecting anything really as blood tests suggest I ovulate, and AF is always 14 days after the OPK smiley face but will give it a go.

Just marking my place, too much to reply to this late at night after two glasses of wine and then a slightly wobbly cycle home on a school night!
Was hoping for a sneaky dtd but it seems there was too much wine consumed on DPs part to make all required parts compliant, as it were Angry . Hoping temperature doesn't surge in the morning before we get another dose in! How romantic this all is!!

I can't believe I'm here either Bunny

MrsWalker we actually bought a 3 bed house assuming that there would soon be an occupant in the 3rd room!

FUCKING bitch that is AF is here.
Still it means that my first cycle after IVF was 30 days which is good I guess.

pip sorry AF arrived Sad . Ditto kuma.

Thunder the reason that one wound us all up was the way she got diffed on her first cycle of trying and then airily informed us all that we just needed to have lots of sex and we'd all be pg like her she might not have put it quite like that but it certainly read like that Angry

mrsw I turned down a full time job as I assumed I'd be pg by the time it started and didn't want to mess anyone around. I also wanted to return to work part time so thought it best to continue the job I'd want to come back to. When I was briefly pg we started looking at houses because although I love the house we have it's in the catchment area of a secondary school we wouldn't want to send a child to (we're both teachers and we've both worked in 'that kind of school'). We're in no hurry to move, but will keep an eye on the market as we'll have to move within the next 11 years (I'm definite about this as we'll have a kid one way or another, adoption if necessary).

RP hope the drugs are an improvement. Is it wrong that there is a bunch of women online waiting in anticipation for details of your sex life?!

charming It's an arse when timings don't fit, but at least a holiday is a nice reason to delay a couple of weeks Smile .

Kuma I definitely found that knowing my cycle helped stop me feel crazy in the 2ww not knowing when to expect AF.

Well, wish me luck berries, school with a hangover (well, only an inset day which is why I allowed myself a second glass of wine. Yes, it seems that's all it takes at the moment...Blush )

sid me too but if it means we get our babies at the end if it then so be it. I laughed when the nurse said dh didn't need to be there for the semination. I was like 'thanks but I'd like him to be there for the conception of his own child' Hmm

bunny I think people on the brookers thread took longer but tbh the more you've got occupying your mind the better I'd say.

gill what's your day 21 prog levels? My gp told me i ov'd fine with levels of 21 but the fc said they'd have liked it to be >30.
