Conception

Is it possible to "feel pregnant" 4 days after conception?

Hi all,

A little bit of background. Husband and I were ttc 7 months ago until I got a promotion and was told I had to prove myself to keep it. So at risk of losing my promotion due to having a baby we decided to put of ttc for a year until the post was permanent. Because we wanted to ttc quickly at that point we decided to avoid hormonal contraception and have been on condoms and the diaphragm ever since.

Anyway - last Monday we had sex without protection and initially I thought nothing of it as I was sure we'd missed my fertile window anyway. Then on Friday I felt really quite odd - a strange feeling of nausea that lasted most of the day that reminded me of how I felt with DD, 3 years ago. It made me wonder so I rechecked my dates and now I'm not so sure...

I know its too early for a pregnancy test to be positive, I'm not due for another 6 days. I keep asking myself if it is possible to know you are pregnant so soon or if I must be imagining it?

TIA

I strongly suspected at 4 days (but we were TTC, so I was on hyper alert) due to enormous & very painful norks.

Nobody believes me but they kicked off about 4 days after I ovulated, so I think yes, you can get symptoms.

Fx for you!

Yes. I knew within days. Body just felt different. The instant love handles on my hips confirmed it (they're still there and DD is nearly four!!)... Grin

Thank you all. I really am quite convinced I am so at least I don't feel crazy now :)

My advice would be to not get your hopes up too much. First cycle of ttc I was utterly convinced I was pregnant, had lots of symptoms but nothing came of it. It could just be coincidence.

Oh trust me, I'm not getting my hopes up at this point. I would love to conceive but now would be a really bad time - I'd have to keep it a secret for as long as possible to stand any chance of keeping my promotion, and even then the chance is slim. A shame really...

Yeah I did. No idea first time round but did this time. Felt the implantation so that was a big give away. Clear blue digital confirmed 10 days after we dtd

Surely though if you get the promotion and sign a contract your being pregnant wouldn't change that...

I've felt pregnant many times while TTC. The one time I was pregnant I really didn't think I was.

Yes.

I had a funny taste in my mouth two days after unprotected sex. I just knew I was pregnant.

You will certainly have people telling you "I knew", but equally there will be so many people who thought they were pregnant and had symptoms very early on, but then turned out not to be pregnant.

Most women TTC feel early symptoms, mostly because they're looking for those symptoms :)

DM swears she knew the morning after the deed as she had a 'tingling' feeling in her boobs. Her gp practically laughed her out of the office, but she insisted and a pregnancy test was done and she was pregnant!

About a week after, I started to get what feels like morning sickness. Still too early to test, only time will tell! I think sometimes you feel you are, then the implanting egg isn't 'right' so the body naturally stops it and you get a period anyway. It's very vulnerable in the early stages.

I had a healthy sense of denial for both last time and now...but if I had been honest with myself the signs were definitely there very early on. A mixture of waves of dizziness and boob pain

I felt 'different' the morning after. I just knew that I was pregnant.
