This is all so new & scary to me so just looking for people I can chat to who know as fewof the abbreviations as me and are going through all the same scary stuff for the first time!! Either that or some pro's who don't mind my million questions!!

I'm very early stages as in body still coming off the contraceptive pill so it might be a while til a get my BFP (I do know that one!!) so might need some chums in the meantime!

Hi Tina!

Welcome, I hope it doesn't take too long for your bfp smile

I already have one DD (dear daughter- not sure if you know that one) and we are trying for a second, I'm just going through an early miscarriage at the moment but we are planning on jumping straight back on the horse after.

Please feel free to message me if you wanted

Hi Tina and KitchenWeasel,
I'm braving it and commenting on my first thread after reading them all so I'm a newbie too!Right, here goes. I am 33yrs ttc#1 cycle 3 BFP due 28th Sept. I don't know how accurate that was??? It's quite intimidating at first coming on here but I'm sure I'll be a pro soon.

Hibou7688 Fri 20-Sep-13 19:08:34

Hi all! I'm the same, i stopped my pill in august so just trying to figure stuff out and learn abbreviations too!

skybluegirl33 Fri 20-Sep-13 20:23:13

P.S. I only saw the acronyms listed above in talk last week which helps a lot, highly recommended to help decipher the cryptic language!

Eclaires123 Fri 20-Sep-13 23:37:43

Hi there
I'm new to all this too! Took my coil out end of Aug but other half works offshore and his rotation takes him away when he REALLY SHOULD be here if you get my gist!!
But really it's all a bit scary for me too, the decision and also all the things I am realising I don't know and I guess I should!?
If you wanna mate along the way will try to help
C x

Hi everyone!

Lots of newbies, I like it! grin

Eclaires I know exactly what you mean, DH has a job where he has to be away sporadically, it really mucks up our plans sometimes- very frustrating envy

sky, Hibou good luck with your BFPs, no doubt you'll be be pulling apart your HPTs and body temping like the rest of us nutters in no time wink

Hi all, I am 32 ttc #1, cycle 3. Think I will be ovulating next week when unfortunately I am away with work for 6 days sad

It's funny how long you try and not get pregnant and now you want to be you realise there's a lot more to it!

KitchenWeasel Sat 21-Sep-13 08:42:27

Hi wine thats too true, I spent years on the coil/pill and now think how quickly would it of happened if there wasn't the added pressure of TTC?

It took us 19 cycles of half heartedly (not tracking ov just dtd whenever) with DD and 1 cycle for BFP this time (although MC)

It varies so much but I hear the norm is 5 cycles. smile
If you know when you're ov and doing it then, thats as much as you can do.

Hi,

This is my first post though I've been thinking about joining for some time! I am 32 ttc#1 just finished cycle 2 and heading into cycle 3. AF was 3 days early this month so was really hopeful I was having an implantation bleed but think its just regular old AF now! sad

None of my friends are ttc and need some buddies to share the ride with! Have already started to obsess about why it hasn't happened even though I know logically it could take a while!

KitchenWeasel Sat 21-Sep-13 08:59:48

Pixie welcome!

Don't worry, I have a feeling I might be joining you in obsessing.

The worst thing you can do IMO is test early, I have in the past and it does more harm than good.

When you decide the time is right for a baby, you want one NOW! grin

pixieears32 Sat 21-Sep-13 09:11:39

We can obsess together KitchenWeasel! It's funny how you can go from not being too bothered to being completely broody- to the point where it's all you think about! Plus I work with kids and it seems nearly everyday their parents are announcing they are pregnant again!! It feels like it will never happen for me!!

pixieears32 Sat 21-Sep-13 09:18:04

Sorry to hear about the MC KitchenWeasel hope you are doing okay here to listen if you need to vent

tinaw20 Sat 21-Sep-13 09:36:52

Yay! Lots of newbies! I'm in exactly the same boat! This time last year I didn't even know if I wanted Thomas we were stuck in a rut and I just wasn't very happy, we moved to a bigger house in June and are surrounded by lovely neighbours, all of whom have very young children's d something inside me just went boom! Now it's all I can think about and I just want to be pregnant more than anything! I am aware it can take a while though so will no doubt calm down eventually smile good luck to all & let's keep chatting so we can help each other out! I too have no friends ttc, my closest friend is 13wks but she got her BFP after just one cycle so she's not much use for advice ;) x

tinaw20 Sat 21-Sep-13 09:37:45

That's supposed to say children, not Thomas! Damn auto correct!

skybluegirl33 Sat 21-Sep-13 09:43:11

Thanks for all the support girls, I've not told any friends or family that we're ttc as I don't want the added pressure and expectations from them all, particulary as my DH and I know 17 babies born this year from family, friends and colleagues!!! All I've been doing is buying baby stuff for others and hoping that eventually I'll be doing it for myself one day.

Sorry about your MC KitchenWeasel, I can't begin to imagine what you and you're partner have gone through and admire your determination and strength.

I'm trying to not get obsessed with it all but it's so hard. I'm on my 2ww and have to stop assuming every body change is early pregnancy and not a normal body function, so frustrating!

KitchenWeasel Sat 21-Sep-13 10:46:49

Thanks pixie and sky. smile everything feels quite cloudy it's a strange place to be in, wanting AF to just pass but not wanting her at all IYSWIM?

Hopefully lots of bfps can come from this thread.

It's so true though- you hardly notice pregnant women until you start TTC then they seem to be everywhere envy

pixieears32 Sat 21-Sep-13 14:33:14

I'm having a very off day- I'm in a really bad mood and feel sick to my stomach, it's as if AF is starting all over again as I would normally feel this way at the beginning of AF. It's like my hormones are all out of whack. Poor DP is getting the brunt of it smile

I can only imagine what you are going through KitchenWeasel. My mum had two miscarriages as well as three kids and she found it very hard. Be kind to yourself and feel free to let off steam here.

Monkeygirl28 Sat 21-Sep-13 18:26:38

Hi there, this is my first post too, Hello! have one DD nearly 2.5, early miscarriage in may, been ttc since but having a weird time at the mo, 2 days late which is rare, lots of negative hpts so very confused and pretty fed up! Really want to be pregnant

barmybunting Sat 21-Sep-13 19:03:25

Hello, can I join in please?
I came off the pill at the beginning of July, but DH has been away with work since end June, he is due back next week, so we can finally start TTC. We are trying for our first baby, have been married about 2 years.

Despite supposedly having come off the pill whilst he was away to allow my cycle to regulate and not obsess about things, I had a normal 28 day cycle for cycle 1, and now for cycle 2 I am on cd48 now and have no sign of AF - meaning I am 20 days late based on last months cycle. I'm hoping it appears this week before DH gets home. I hate how long it takes to get things back to normal, I think it could be very easy to start to obsess about this.

Glad to hear of other people in the same boat, wanting to be calm but finding it hard!

skybluegirl33 Sat 21-Sep-13 19:16:52

Welcome to the group Monkey and Barmy, it's good to share with others who are going through the same thing and we can all understand how frustrating and hard it ttc!

Keep us posted with how things are going?x

tinaw20 Sat 21-Sep-13 19:17:59

Welcome!! Feel free to PM me for a chat at anytime! I've been doing a lot of it as its all so new to means I've o idea what I'm doing! 20 days late is a bit odd though, even from the pill! My usual cycle went from 30-34 days when I came off 3 years ago! I went back on a year and a half ago though and am only just finished my last packet now so I've got to go through it all again!! I'm hoping to start ttc after my next cycle as this one is a pill induced one so not sure if it'll work?! X

Nikkilouise26 Sat 21-Sep-13 19:51:20

Hey girl well I'm 27 ttc 1 been trying for a little over a year now sad very stressful this ttc business but hopefully will happen soon enough.

tinaw20 Sat 21-Sep-13 20:22:41

Sorry to hear you're having such a stressful time! Hopefully you'll get your BFP soon! Come chat anytime you want! I've got a feeling it'll take a while for me too sad x

Nikkilouise26 Sat 21-Sep-13 20:29:13

I'm hoping when I go back the docs on Monday they will off me clomid or a least refer me as it clear I'm
Not ovulating regularly but we will see!!
