Conception

#Advice please

I'm 25 years old and am trying to conceive for the first time. I had my implant taken out in the 6th sept whilst I was on my period. My period finished as normal 2 days later.
Yesterday I experienced stringy clear discharge so hoped I was ovulating. This morning I had blood when I wiped for the first time since getting implant removed. I have taken a test and it said I'm not pregnant. Is it too early to tell or am I barking up the wrong tree?? I'm concerned I haven't had a period since my implant was taken out but it's not actually due till end of this month.

Any advice is welcome
Thanks

If by stringy you mean like egg white it means you're fertile now, so dtd!!

Also, I would start tracking on an app like fertility friend. It will help you know when you're fertile and make sense of it all. They also have a good email course with info on conception, including all the grim things to look forward to.. Like EWCM. It will stop you guessing and wasting money on tests.

If anything, you're fertile now. It's extremely unlikely you could have ovulated and conceived already if you had the implant taken out only a week ago, but if you have conceived, it will be too early to tell for another week at least. Bear in mind, though, you might have a few messed up cycles as you're just coming off long-term contraception. Hopefully you won't - but don't be too surprised if you have long cycles to start with and/or don't get pg straight away.

In a normal cycle you would ovulate about two weeks after your period. If your discharge is like egg white, you are fertile now! The bleeding could have been due to ovulation or coming off the coil. Symptoms of fertilisation take at least 10 days to appear after ovulation (if at all) so it can't be that. Get dtd! Good luck!

Thank you for your advice. I'll stop taking tests now and get an app. I did get the tests from Amazon x 50 for £7. Brilliant deal especially since I'll be taking a few.

Thanks vjones. I will put this down to my body getting back to normal after having implant for 6 years. The spotting was worrying though as I knew straight away it wasn't my normal period blood and now it's gone.
I'll keep trying :-)

Thanks again

A bit of spotting is not unusual at all after finishing hormonal contraception, I've had a bit of the same coming off the pill. It can take a few months to get a regular cycle back. it's really worth reading up about fertility and how you can know when your fertile times are by observing your cervical mucus and paying attention to your cycle. The apps are also useful for that. However, in my opinion, the first few months it is best just to enjoy lots and lots of sex (three times a week) and hope for the best. 85% of healthy couples will conceive within a year if they are having sex often enough.

Thanks Kat. It's hard to track anything ATM as my body is all over the place. Fortunately my husband and I are the 'everyday' type couple so that shouldn't be the issue. Just concerned it'll take a while to get my body back in routine which I guess is normal. I'll keep trying x

Hi, not sure if it will help but I read a post on another forum from a natural fertility expert on how to tell when you are fertile. It explains your bodies signs leading up to and during fertility, its quite interesting so may well be worth a read?! The link to the post in case you want to have a look is forum.prideangel.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=537 Hope it helps! Good luck xxx

Beat results are 14 days after ovulation, so the 26th in your case.

I had my implant out on the 5th, had same CM issue as you & tested positive for ovulation the day after that, so like the others I'd say you're ovulating now!!

Good luck!!

That doesn't read very clearly sorry! I tested positive for ovulation the day after CM issue, not the day after I got implant out. Implant came out 5th & I ovulated the 12th.

I tested positive (O) after CM too. That was at the weekend, as ff planned.
I'll test again on the 26th as suggested by Vjones. I have sex at least once a day, everyday anyway so not too bothered about missing ovulation. I knew I had certainly o'd though because of poas xx

Good luck and keep updating

Oh btw- better not bitter- was you told the implant would affect trying to get pg at all??
