Embarrassing question

About periods. I started a thread recently entitled "real periods" as I haven't had one in a decade and I suffer from severe phobia of blood so am nervous about Af arrival which I think is imminent. Am 10dpo first month off pill and had a bfn today.

Anyway. My question is does anyone suffer period cramps causing loose stools or cramps which are relieved by going for a poo? Today I've had on/off cramps and the toilet helps Blush. Is that normal?

I get looser stools when I have period cramps and go several times a day, never noticed it easing my cramps but I guess why not? Sounds reasonable to me.

Me too - I suffer from IBS and it gets MUCH worse around my period, and have just started noticing I flare up during ovulation too.

My doctor prescribed me Mefenamic Acid for the period pains, which seems to really help with the IBS cramps too - I guess it's just reducing the inflamation all round.

Wonderful things, these hormones, aren't they!

Me too. Am really crap at keeping a note of when I'm due but I then have a really, really loose stool, realise that I haven't gone for a couple of days and a few hours later AF arrives.

haha...thank goodness someone has asked this!! i thought it waa only me. Never off the loo on the days leading up to my period, never know if i'm going to start or poo myself! everywhere you look it says that constipation is a sign that af is coming...all bloody lies!! Smile

Constipation is a sign that your pregnant so when you realise AF is late and you haven't needed 'to go' it's time to POAS.

Funny but I'm completely the opposite. I get really constipated before my period. I generally know I'm pregnant if everything is still working as normal or looser down there. So don't give up hope just yet.
