We have been TTC for the last 4 months. I'm on Prednisolone to try and prevent a miscarriage ( I've had 5). I think this may actually be preventing me from concieving so we are doing the sperm meets egg plan from tonight onwards!!!

Thanks Misspositivity
I think i'm going to break out the cough medicine this month too. I'm sure it's helped when TTC in the past.

Am on it this month. We've been ttc #2 since a mmc in November. It always takes me ages to get preg (well the 2 times we tried previously) unlike many pf my friends. I've started taking B6 in the last cycle and am hoping that might boost odds for us. Good luck everyone!

acccidental what's the deal with the cough medicine?

squiggly. What does b6 do for you. Good luck this month.

Guaifenesin (think that's the spelling) for chesty coughs thins your mucous in your lungs but as a side effect also in your cervix. The theory is that thinner cervical mucous helps the sperm travel further increasing the chance of it reaching the egg. It's supposed to be good if you know you don't produce much mucous at ovulation.
It's always hard to know if using things like this increases your chance of conception but be used it in the past and I think it's helped.

misspositivity I started taking b6 as I spot before my periods for up to a week. I read somewhere it might help so I started taking it this month and it seems to have stopped the spotting and even better I feel a lot less tired and a lot more balanced moodwise. I mentioned it to a nurse when I was getting my blood test and she said it can't hurt so I'm going to keep taking them (as well as pregnancy tabs).

I'll join. I'm at the one year point of TTC #3 without even a hint of a line. Currently 10dpo after following the SMEP exactly. So I'll know if its worked by Thursday.
Good luck everyone.

squiggly thanks for info I might give it a try - spot before periods and always in early pregnancy. Do you know what dosage recommended as I know some b6 already in my pregnacare vitamins.

Good luck miss. Smile
I'm a little bit confused as to when I ovulated, even fertilityfriend changed its mind a couple of days ago. Hmm So I think I'll give it until Saturday until I test. I've had some very strong cramping today so I'm expecting AF tomorrow tbh. Will keep trying with SMEP though for another 2 cycles.

Good luck thingymajigs after a year of trying I can imagine how ready you must be for your BFP.

Report
Thingymajigs · 30/05/2013 10:25

Definitely. Smile At this point I have no idea how I managed to conceive before. It seems impossible.
I hope the medication helps you, I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you. Is this the first cycle trying with the meds?
Where is everyone else in their cycle? I assume you're all far too busy implenting the SMEP to post. Grin

I got my BFP so the SMEP does work. Hope everyone else is successful too. Smile

Well done thingymajigs I'm delighted for you Smile Flowers

This is my fourth cycle with the meds. I'm started to get the hang of the wait and the 'I'm sure I'm getting pregnancy symptoms' followed by the BFN!
I'm ovulating at the moment, dH even came home at lunchtime yesterday for a booty call. TBH we are both knackered now Grin can't wait for the 2 week rest wait

thingy excellent news. Big cheer for smep.

We haven't done so well. Meant to start last night but I went to bed to read and DP came up 10 mins later and I was out for the count. He is now away till sun. Big sigh.

Starting sun which is day 12 of cycle usually ovulate later than day 14 so hoping I haven't missed the boat.

can I join?

TTC #1 since March but nothing so far.

Is this SMEP a book or something?

Am currently in my fertile window according to my tracker app but to be honest DH and I are shattered from work and struggling to get in the mood! He's at work at the moment and I'm hoping a takeaway and some wine might help him get in the mood later Wink

Helllooooo!

we started off this cycle ready to do SMEP although it went a bit wrong over the last few days due to DH and I doing some weird shifts and also one day we tried and failed Blush.... Although made up for it the next day Grin

So... Today is CD21....

We have dtd on CD10, 12, 14, 17, 20 and 21.

Got a positive cb digi OPK yesterday morning (cd20) so dtd last evening and again this morning.

Really going to try again tomorrow morning but DH is getting up at 5am to go to work (I know... Ridiculous for a Saturday!) and I just don't know if either of us will want to dtd at that time of day!

Annoyingly, DH is going out for a friends birthday party tomorrow night straight after and will probably stay at his mums house as its closer to where they are all going out..

So at this rate we won't get a chance to dtd tomorrow at all! Gahhhhhhh!

I'm wanting to dtd 3 days in a row obviously!!!!!!
Maybe I will have to find a way to stop him going out tomorrow night lol Grin

Welcome jazzcat
Google sperm meets egg plan.
It is a shagging program to improve your chances of conceiving. Very simple to follow and seemingly effective.

Hi to everyone who has joined
gilly I think you have made a sterling effort. Not sure I would want to DTD that early in morning either.

You seem to ovulate late like me. Poss opk at day 19 last month. How long are your normal cycles.
