Hi Smile

I have had a letter through for an appointment in two weeks time to check my ovaries etc as been TTC for a while following a miscarriage. However, I have worked out that I will be on my period (day 2 ish of my cycle) and wondered if this means I can't have it done. The Dr mentioned an internal scan so I presume I will be having the probe...

So has anyone had one whilst on their period/had to reschedule etc?

TIA. x

Hi!

My mum funnily enough was told its better if your on your period to have the internal scene but definite worth phoning to check.

Good luck :)

Hi, not sure if its the same thing but I am booked in for a transvaginal scan and have been told that it doesn't matter (from their point of view) where you are in your cycle.

I would check with them in advance though.

I've had several lots done during bleeding. First time I phoned and checked and they said it was up to me, if I felt comfortable. I'd waited 3 months for the appointment so decided to go with it.

Tell the scanner when you arrive, in my experience they don't bat an eyelid.

If it makes you feel better, at my scan on Friday they couldn't find my left ovary because of all the farts lined up in my bowel Blush. So in my experience, copious bleeding is fine. Farts less so. Next time I'll let rip in the waiting area Grin

Hi, it will be internal but would have thought it would be fine at that point if you are ok. I would be tempted to reschedule myself as long as I wasn't waiting too much longer.

I would say that I find it a little more uncomfortable at that time of the month, so you might want to take a paracetamol in advance.

I hope it all goes ok.
