TTC after emcs

Just wondering how long you waited before TTC after a section. I had a premature emcs 2 weeks ago and sadly lost DS as he was very poorly. Obviously v early days still and i would never want to replace my beautiful Thomas- we will wait until we are emotionally ready as well as physically but we would like to try again as soon as we can and just wanted to hear other people's experiences.

Thanks

So sorry to hear of your loss rosduck. I also had an EMCS but I don't know how long you have to wait to TTC, just didn't want to leave you unanswered and thought this might bump in the hope that someone may be able to help. You could also try posting in the childbirth section as there is always lots of good CS advice in there xx

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss rosduck. It must be heartbreaking to have lost your Thomas, I can only imagine what you're going through.

I had EMCS at 29 weeks & was told to wait a year to allow the scar on the womb to heal properly, however I've also heard of many ladies who become pregnant earlier than this & it's worked out.

I was also told it depended on the type of CS you have - most women have a normal c-section, going in above the bikini line with 1 cut. However, if you have a "classical" c-section (a cross-shaped incision because the uterus is so small earlier in pregnancy) it means you will always require a section in future pregnancies.

If you feel you would like some answers as to why your little one arrived so early, and the implications for future pregnancy, please ask for a referral to a hospital consultant. I did this and found it very helpful.

Please take care of yourself. I'm so sorry your Thomas could not stay.
