House swaps, how do they work?

Do you have to clear out all your cupboards? What do you do with all your stuff?

We've done house swaps about 4 times now. It's usual to make some space in the cupboard, and maybe a drawer or two so that the people coming in have space to put their stuff (rather than have to live completely out of the suitcase). Other than that, just put away any personal/important stuff (eg bank details, etc, just in case)... and then just remember that you're in their house too.

My experience is that house swapping is much 'easier' on the house than rentals.... every time we rent, something gets broken/stolen/whatever. Whenever we swap, we just end up with new friends.

Good luck.

Right, so, anyone want to house swap with me? Would like to go somewhere near the coast in France, this summer.

I have a five bed farmhouse style house in a very pretty Devon village about 35 minutes from the coast at Sidmouth, East Devon.
