4 bedroom family house in Bedfordshire. Huge garden and lovely nature reserve on the doorstep with great programme of activities like bat walks, funghi forays, BBQs etc. RSPB Antreserve about 20 mins away and Forest Centre around 30 minutes in other direction.

We have chickens, friendly kids as neighbours Antiques in local town, farmers markets, swimming pool, local bikes routes, walks and more! 50 mins from London by train. Around 45 mins to cambridge/brum too as well 25 min drive to Milton Keynes for shopping and theatre/cinema. Reasonable distance to Bicester. English Heritage property in nearby village - NT places close too.

Our house is by no means posh - we started to do it up when I lost my job (!) so it has nice kitchen/dining room with range cooker and huge dining table, laundry/boot/dog room, small but perfectly formed sitting room (seating for 7 or 8), 1 and a half bathrooms (bathroom with bath/shower/loo and downstairs loo) and 4 bedrooms - 1 double and 3 singles but a huge log cabin in the garden with underfloor heating acts as a games room/gym and a loft for sleepovers (we've crammed 6 in before now).

We have 3 kids ranging from 16 down to 10. Happy to have little ones here but would need to find stairgates etc.

We would like somewhere in France for summer 2010 and would love a week in N Devon/ Cornwall October 2009 (this half term) for kids to surf. That could be 4/ days - doesn't have to be whole week. We might bring granny (not that she surfs, though )

Anyone?
