He's got a stool thing in the toilet so he can get up and use the loo.

He moved it ontop of his toe than tried to get on. He was howling - I had a quick look and the nail not cracked but was a bit red underneath.

Gave nurofen kids for pain. But 30 mins on he says it still hurts and HE WON'T LET ME LOOK.

Inkow nothing about nails - should I leave nursery for this afternoon and take him to local walk in centre instead??

Will nail come off????

What shall I do (I've never in 41 years ever had a nail injury!).

If it starts to swell underneath the nail/gather blood, they might need to make a hole in it and relieve the pressure.

You'll have to do the old sitting-on-him-to-hold-him-down manoeuvre to check.

Agh -bloody hell - I can walk he just has but I'm just about to serve his lunch on his lapand I'll whip off the sock again even if he goes bonkers.

This was all now 45 mins ago and I reckon any blood would have gathered.

I feel awful!

many thanks for advice.

THE NAIL COMES OFF! OMG - Oh your POOR little girl!

Well it's now been an hour - I've managed to whip off the sock and can see the faintest thing and can't see swelling so I'll put him in comfy shoes and send him to nursery - I'm sure it's not that bad - he had his weigh on his toe rather than that of an adult (Ooooh).

My issue is that he's THE biggest coward with anything medical including just having someone look in his mouth - he's like a wild animal and I cannot hold him down at all.

Many thanks!
