ds having trouble doing a poo.....sorry

hi all,
my DS is 7yo and is having trouble doing a poo. this is the first time ever and only been since yesterday, i have given him some lactulose today to help but just wanted some good advice.

he does eat fruit and vegetables every day - what can i do to stop it happening again.

I've heard glyerin suppositories recommended on here before.

Also lots of water and running around and avoid chocolate, bananas and eggs as they are 'binding'.

I think the lactulose will take a while to kick in, iyswim.
