Check the bottle. It should tell you what the active ingredient is.

CALprofen is children's ibuprofen that's made by Calpol and the bottle usually says 'Each 5ml dose contains xyz mls ibuprofen'.

Never heard of cuprofen but it will still tell you what it has in.

As long as it doesn't say 'This medecine contains paracetamol, do not take with any other medicine containing paracetamol' then you'll be fine to give calpol at bedtime.

Even pharmacy dispensed medicines have that warning on the printed label.

Yes it's ibuprofen. If it's the cuprofen plus it has codeine in aswell.

BTW Cuprofen isn't suitable for children under 12 IIRC.

It is from 6 months, nappyaddict.

I have some cuprofren tablets and just checked the back of the packet and it definitely says unsuitable for children under 12 years. Unless they do a kids version?

This is medicine and it is for 6 months, I wouldn't have given it to my 8 year old otherwise.

Where can you get it from? I actually want it for myself cos I hate swallowing really big tablets.

Is it this? This one says it's ibuprofen on the front of the box so I'd guess yours is the same.

Nappy, I don't think it's the codeine based one afaics. It's the only thing that comes up if you google Cuprofen Medicine and the ingredients list just states ibuprofen as the active ingredient.

All the Cuprofen with codeine that I foound was in tablet form.

Fab, I guess the short answer to your question is 'yes' .

Did you get yours online? I was hoping to get it from a shop.

I have used it.. Boots gave me it .. said it was the same as childrens's nurofen only cheaper. Its made by the same people who make calpol

It will be fine used in conjunction with calpol at bedtime (so long as bedtime aint 6pm )

The only downside is apparently its yuck compared to nurofen

Isn't the one made my calpol called calprofen or do they make cuprofen aswell? see i hate the flavour of nurofen.

CALprofen

CUprofen.

They're two different medicines, different manufacturers but both ibubrofen suspension for children.
