MMR vaccine - what should I expect reaction wise?

DS had his MMR today. DH had to take him as I couldn't get time off work. I tasked him to find out from the GP what the likely reaction would be (fever etc) but he forgot. Can anyone tell me when he will react if he is going to? Mum said he would react ten days later but that seems like a long time away. Is that right? No horror stories re MMR please just want to know about normal reactions (haven't googled for the same reason!)

Yes, about 10 - 14 days. Grumpy, temperature, maybe a slight swelling around the neck. Usually over with in a couple of days. Calpol will help. That's it really. He might not react at all, or, as my LO, reacted to the first and not at all to the second.

Thanks fox. So does that mean he is unlikely to react before then?

DS1 - temp and a bit grumpy day after then again 10 days later. All controlled well with calpol

DS2 - nothing at all

IIRC reactions can be up to 10-14 days later.

Keep an eye on the injection site too.
