terrible stomach bug in 4 year old?

my two oldest children are both ill with some kind of bug. my youngest (aged 2) isnt so bad he has been sick a few times and is quiet and not himself.

BUT my oldest (who is 4) has been really unwell.
It started last sunday night she suddenly started throwing up and everyday since then she has been throwing up many many times a day she hasnt managed to keeo any food down at all since monday and is also being sick most of the time even after drinking water - although we have been told she is not dehydrated.

she is now too weak to walk up stairs, she has just been lying down since monday, she doesnt have a very high temperature and doesnt complain of any pain.

she is now very thing - her ribs poke through and her lovely podgy tummy has completely gone

we have called nhs direct twice. the out of hours doctors twice and we have taken her up to the out of hours doctors who told us to give her lemonade - which we have BUT she is just throwing it straight back up!.
we took her in wednesday.

I dont know what to do - she is so ill but no one seems to be able to help her...how long can she go on not eating and only getting a small amount of drink?

surely it should be easing a bit after a week?

I have an 8 week old baby at home too and i am terrified she will get ill

Is there an A&E close to you? Take her there, they will put her on a drip, she sounds like she needs taking now if she's like this.

please get her seen.

my cut off for getting a child seen is if I need to ask another mum for advice. honestly, if I am that worried that I need advice from a mum, I actually need advice from a doctor.

and if she were mine, I think I would be heading for A&E (well, probably for NHS direct, but they normally head you towards A&E anyway).

good luck with her, you sound very worried

I'd head for A&E too.

A&E my older children all had a bug and my younger dd was a lot worse turned out she had a really nasty bug and needed to go on a drip for a couple of days.

Hope she is ok soon.
