strange brown marks on dds chest - eczema?

hello. dd is 19m old and was a bit of a sickly allergic baby with bouts of eczema due to dairy allergy.

She has now fully grown out of her allergy/intolerance and no longer has eczema or any skin complaints.

however for the past week or two I've noticed odd marks over her chest (nowhere else). I wondered if it were eczema, they are pale brown, very slightly darker than her normal skin tone (caucasian) and perhaps almost yellowy. They don't feel rough, although I expect them to because they look as if they would be rough to touch iyswim?

I pointed them out to dh yesterday who said they looked like old bruises . He is completely right, and are about the size (but not shape) or adult fingers, although they are in unusual positions. I have not seen them any darker in colour, nor do hey hurt her, and nor has she been handled roughly or shaken (she is my princess!)

I had planned to take her to the docs just to see what is causing these marks as they have been around for a while now, but I can't bring myself to do so incase he too thinks they are bruising

I realise i'm being a little irrational here as I am sure they cannot be bruising, but what else could they be? they really are fairly noticable and, well, odd

TIA

Have they only been there for a week or two or could they have been there longer? Could thye be a birthmark?

dd is pale skinned and it took ages for her to get any colour into her nipples so she looked nippleless for months . I remeber cheering whn they arrived at about 7 months . Thats how well i remember that she never had them when she was younger.

I'm pretty sure its only been a week or two, although it could be pushing a month, time does fly with a toddler

I did wonder about birthmarks or pigmenting, but there are lots of these marks...

There are some conditions that make brown skin marks, a GP should be able to tell the difference between these and an old bruise. Don't let this put you off taking him to the GP, bruises the size of fingers will leave distinct marks with finger spaces between. They would be round. Please don't worry.

Ds had eczema by the way, he also has light brown patches here and there.

thanks fluffy, i know you're right, it has just left me shocked that dh would even suggest it....

And I work in the courts where i see children being taken away on an "emergency" basis for non-accidental injury after a routine visit to a gp by an anxious parent on a regular basis. I just know everyone's radars are up because of baby P....

Perhaps it is a bit of eczema then? bizarre place, I will dig out old acqueous cream to see if that shifts it.

Thank you.

I think the cream and the eczema does something to the pigmentation in the skin. It does go away eventually.
