DS2 often has mucousy poo, quite loose and "stringy", when he has a cold. He's only 9 months so not old enough to cough up phelgm, so it's all swallowed and comes out the other end!

banana's can cause string bits

Could he have thrush with the blisters.

i also think that hand foot and mouth can cause blisters around the nappy area and groin. Does he have any blisters on teh palms/soles of feet or in his mouth (would explain him being off his food)

could the poo be very acidic and burning his skin?

Could it be chicken pox? My DS started with it on his bottom... it starts off as blisters and does not itch at first. They are normally a bit unwell before the rash starts too...

dd2 just had hand foot and mouth (i think)
hed really sore , blistered nappy area and then a few blisters developed on hands and feet. She didn't eat either so think there were some in there too.
