Sickness bug: what can I give DD to drink?

Hi my DD (4 1/2) has got a sickness bug (I assume), no diarrhoea.
So far, the only thing she's had is water, which she puked back up more or less every time.
She slept a lot this afternoon and went 2 hours without being sick until she drank again.
My question is: is it okay to give her those Dioralyte salts drinks (we bought them last week when my son had the same thing, only he had more diarrhea than sickness).
I'm quite freaked out by the fact that she can't even keep water down.
She's been sick regurlarly for about 20 hours now is that a long time for a sickness bug?

Give her fluid on a teaspoon. Trouble with sipping it from a cup is that even us adults tend to sip too much. Give it every ten-fifteen minutes, see if it stays down and if it does increase the frequency.

Oh dear, I've just given her that drink (Dioralyte). She was desperate, she took a few very small sips from it and after 5/10 minutes I allowed her a bit more (I was watching her while she was drinking and bless her she was really sipping it slowly)
If it doesn't stay down, I will definately do what you said, it sounds like a good advice.
Thank you.

Flat, full fat coke is supposed to be as good as diarolyte as it has all the salts and sugars in it that are lost with continual vomiting.

I always give mine ginger ale too- the ginger is supposed to help settle the stomach.

WHat ever you give her, make sure she has plenty of fluids (on a spoon or sipping, not gulping it down)- even if she does keep bringing them back- some of it is bound to go in.

Ok, and just for the record, when can she start eating? (if she asks me that is, because at the moment she's not fussed)

I think that the opinion on starving them has changed. Wait for her to ask but keep it very bland and very tiny portions (plain toast, plain biscuits).

One thing I would say is keep her off dairy for a few days- my DD had a bug last year that kept coming back every few days for about 2 weeks due to a temporary lactose intolerance that can happen after a bug. We had to go dairy free for a week before it cleared up.
