3 year olds teeth... (sorry long)

My daughter has had a fair amount of trouble with her teeth, over a year ago she had a fall and her four front top teeth were removed as it was chipped and the teeth died and were causing her agony.

A year and so on now we've just been to the dentist to find out she has two cavities that have to be removed as they are immanent to cause her pain and two more on the bottom that need filling or will have to be removed.

She looked at my daughters teeth and said that the enamel looks fine. My daughters diet isn't perfect but it's pretty good - she doesn't like juice, rarely has diluted squash. Loves loves fruits (which apparently is an issue ) and eats very well. By all means, I get the hidden sugars thing but we have been hyper vigilant on keeping her teeth clean as we lost the other ones.

We've been given a flouride paste to put on her teeth after brushing. My question is.. any guess on why this is happening? We are obviously going to cut out any obvious sugars and high acidic foods (cava anyone?).

Also has anyone been able to get their childrens teeth filled under GA? Apparently we may have trouble getting a hospital to do this.. time will tell though. We are in the southeast if anyone has any ideas on that front too! I'd rather have them filled than wait for them to get worse and pulled too. This is a nightmare frankly..

hmm personally I would get a second opinion.

seems like your dentist rather likes taking teeth out imo

No, we paid out for a specialist this time - different dentist from our local NHS one that had her first four out. But they were dead, grey and black in places. And she obviously has cavities this time too, black on the top ones and beginning of a cavity on 2 bottoms ones.

I really do wish it were the dentist.

Just bumping for you because we're having problems with dd2's teeth (she's 2.5) and are worrying about it.

She has a black spot in two top molars and her front tooth is grey at the bottom and wearing down.

She is a total fruit freak - and it's been really hard to limit her intake. She doesn't like sweet things, and she has a good diet - it seems so unfair. Her sister (6) has a terrible diet - hardly touches fruit and will bite your hand off for a sweet - yet her teeth are perfect.

It just makes me want to cry Hope you get some answers Crace.
