Oh heavens. They all swallow it, that is why you only use a small amount.
Panic not. Everything is fine.

I just didn't use toothpaste until DS could spit! He has lovely teeth - no probs at all at nearly 3 - although we don't give him sugary things really either. We use a natural toothpaste anyway that doesn't have all the nasties that make it dangerous anyway...

MrsGokWan · 06/02/2009 23:31

bubbleymummy, what toothpaste do you use?

becklespeckle · 06/02/2009 23:39

I use the same bumbly for my 13 month old, was worried that water alone wasn't good enough. I just dip the brush in the toothpaste so she has very very little, I then brush with water afterwards - she usually dribbles quite a lot out.

Yurtgirl · 06/02/2009 23:44

I discovered recently that all toothpaste with less than 1000 [flouride parts or something?!] is useless anyway.

My ds was 6 when I discovered that!

bubbleymummy · 07/02/2009 10:27

Green people children's toothpaste. becklespeckle - we just brushed his teeth v well with water and found that it cleaned them fine - the brush does the cleaning anyway! I think it's the novelty of the toothpaste now more than anything - if we run out I don't stress about it!

My daughter couldn't master spitting until she was around 3, I just didn't use very much toothpaste and tried not to worry about it. I'm sure pretty much all of them swallow far worse things than toothpaste on a regular basis

p.s my lo's swallow toothpaste too - that is why you use a smear for under 2's and a pea sized amount for over 2's.

becklespeckle · 10/02/2009 00:21

DD's is in the affected batch

Will ring the recall line in the morning.
