Multivitamins and Bio-Acidophilus - okay to take together?

Hi,

My 10.5 month old DS caught one virus after another once he turned 7 months. I know this is natural as the mummy antibodies get used up after about 6 months and they have to build up their own immunity. He was sick on and off for quite a while, got better and came down with another virus around christmas, which was a really bad one and caused him to be off his food and drink for a while. As a result, he only gained 1 oz in 6 weeks. He's always been quite diddy so I do worry about his weight a lot!

At the same time, I was advised by my HV to start DS on cow's milk (he is FF btw) as he has never been and is now even less keen on drinking milk. She thinks he might like cow's milk better but did advise that I should give him some multivitamins to supplement. So far, I have only given him cow's milk once a day for his afternoon bottle and he seems to be taking it fine. I don't intend to fully switch over to cow's milk till he's 1. I've also started him on Abidec multivitamin drops. My husband went to a health shop and got conned convinced to buy Biocare Bio-Acidophilus powder. I've done a bit of research and it's not recommended till they are one so I am going to wait a bit to give DS this... Is it okay for him to take the multivitamin and Bio-Acidophilus powder together? Are they any cons to giving him all these extra supplements? I have to say I am also partly driven to try and build up his immunity system before he has his MMR. Am I doing the right thing? Would appreciate everyone's thoughts on this. Thanks!

Ax
