DD's Fractured finger - not sure what, if anything, to do?

Apparently, She came home from Cubs with her right pinky sticking out at an angle and swollen. DH took her to A&E last night (I was out I'm pleased to say) and they have tapped it to the ring finger (rather crudely I must admit, looks like it will last all of this morning Smile.

The fracture is at the lowest part of the finger which I guess is why it was sticking out.

She has an appointment for next Wednesday to go back to the fracture clinic.

Can I do any more?
DD is sport mad and gymnastics, swimming, golf, netball, tennis are her life. I'd hate her to end up with a crooked finger that hindered any sport.

TIA

Can you get a finger splint for it?

DD1 had a similar problem when she jammed a finger playing basketball. Made the mistake of taking her to ER and all they did was tell us to get a finger splint and tape it in for a few days. Next time she (probably) did the same thing I just used the splint again. Her fingers are fine.

Thank you very much for the post, I really appreciate it.
We'll be patient and wait for next weeks apportionment.

I'm suggesting that if she tries something and it doesn't hurt then carry on. Would you agree? For example, a full tee-off shot she found awkward and uncomfortable but a little chipping and putting was ok.

Thanks for the photo Maryz. The hospital put some lint between DD's fingers but I think because her pinkie is so tiny, we're really struggling to get the tape low enough. She's gone to bed tonight with a complete botch job!! I've promised to do better in the morning Smile
