What if temperature doesn't go down with meds?

DD (6 mos) has a raging temperature of 39. It went down to 38 with Calpol and Neurofen but was still too high and she still seemed very unwell. It also bounced back higher again very quickly. Should I take her to the GP? She may be teething or have caught her dad's cold but in neither case in the past with her or DS have I experienced Calpol etc not working so wondering if something else? There aren't any other obvious symptoms but she is lethargic and very sleepy.

if it doesn't get better with stripping down in a cool room take her to be seen. esp as she's lethargic.

I'd take someone that little to the doctor.

I would phone 111. Ds did similar , they saw us at out of hours and worked out how much he could have based on his weight. Turned out he could have 7.5ml instead of 5ml which brought it down.
Especially if you have done basics like stripped off to nappy/pants etc

Agree with the previous answers ,Deffo gp for a lil one of 6m.
Our ds was also weighed and we were told he could have a slightly higher dose of meds.
Hope lil one is on the mend soon xx
